It all depends really... first off IMO it is best to play a few games as good, cause it is EASIER to get lots more money etc. But if your bad it can be pretty fun the ways you kill NPC's and other characters... read 6ofspades Naughty boy thread for a laugh .

That is not really what TRUE EVIL is. Sure, they go around killing people for the sake of killing them, but they're just dumb serial killers. Anyone with intelligence 10+ would realize that. It is much more effective to kill only who you need to, take advantage of harems, etc. for personal pleasure, and give the APPEARANCE that you are good. when people think you're good, they're sooooo much easier to exploit. All the while, you are gathering money, forces, and power. The neutral evil money-loving backstabber that runs a very effective thieves' guild in which no one ever gets caught is much more successful in the end than the chaotic evil barbarian that kills everyone he meets.

Evil characters are SELFISH, not bloodthirsty. Example: Raistlin. obviously quite evil, but was only self-serving in all things. he never killed anyone who he didn't have to. even when (in Autumn Twilight, IIRC) Tanis asked him why he followed, he replied, "I do not follow, you, Tanis. We are merely travelling in the same direction at the moment." THAT is a true evil character.

My Neutral Evil Assassin (solo) with Wisdom 18, Intelligence 16 is the ultimate selfish nasty. His excellent reputation makes people easier to exploit, he makes more money than anyone has a right to, and never attacks the enemy face-to-face. that is the INTELLIGENT, WISE way to be evil, and is quite fun. If you just want to kill everything, play DOOM.

I played good and ONLY good people all the time, which got really boring after awhile. I recently started an evil character with an equally evil party. It's really fun! I recommend trying evil at least once. One thing I hate though, is that there aren't enough evil people to join your party. That's unfair! Let the evil people have some fun in the game! More evil characters! Maybe someone should make a mod.

you get a fifth evil dude in ToB. However, that NPC's alignment can change from Chaotic Evil to Chaotic Good if you treat him/her right, and he/she will never leave the party. He/she also has insane stats. fun.

By the way, isn't Edwin's alignment supposed to be Chaotic Evil (so says the ever-incorrect rulebook)? my first evil character through just discovered he's actually Lawful Evil. how odd.
