I am beginning to think this is specifically related to Salamanders. I reached the Elemental Fire area (you know, the area that looks like Hell from Diablo 2) and the game keeps "hanging" whenever my barbarian hurts a salamander. Darn! It seems that this area cannot be completed either due to the bug.
I will try to make party invisible and see if I can avoid the salamanders. If not...
