I've looked around a bit for the no-Europe release thing and it seems that it WILL be released over here, just not until March 2004.

Or at least it says so on Eidos Interactive UK Deus Ex 2 site

Link, if you get the game and have ANY problems with it, ask me, I've beaten it more than a dozen times and I know every trashbag and lab flask in the game.
Any don't try it on realistic untill you've beaten it at least once.

Key Note Introduction from Warren Spector [Taken from the official site]

Welcome to the world of Deus Ex: Invisible War.

The events of the first Deus Ex game plunged the world into chaos and, now, 20 fictional years later, several groups want to set things right, determining the fate of mankind.

-- There's a religious order that wants to unify the world's religions...

-- Another group seeks salvation in uniting the world economically...

-- Another wants to see the proliferation of scientifically enhanced humans while another seeks to preserve the purity of the human race...

Sadly, the most widely applied weapon in the war for humanity's future is terrorism.

It's not so very different from the world we live in today.

However, there's one thing the world of Invisible War has that the real world doesn't -- YOU, in the role of trainee anti-terrorist agent named Alex D.

As Alex D, you must decide who to trust, who to oppose and who to support. And, since this is a Deus Ex game, there are many mysteries to explore -- the various factions aren't always what they appear to be and their TRUE goals may differ radically from their PUBLIC goals.

It's quite a conspiratorial concoction, actually

Who your enemies are will vary depending upon how you play -- the "heroes" and "villains" of the piece are determined by your own feelings, actions and interactions with the people you meet.

Fans of the first game will be pleased to find that some of their old favourite characters make repeat appearances in Invisible War, though often in new and different roles. Keep your eye out for who these characters will be!

And since it's 20 years later, you're no longer the only human with your special training and abilities, as you were in Deus Ex -- now, there are others like you, and they all have their own thoughts about who's right and who's wrong in the global conflict.

So how will you use your power to solve the world's problems? Who will you side with and who will you try to stop? How will you do it? As the stealthy assassin, the deadly soldier, the charismatic hacker? The tools are there to support all of these choices and more. The world is as responsive as any you've seen in a game.

The choices are yours to make. Choose wisely. The fate of the world is in your hands...

I found Deus Ex (1) to be one of the most replayable games to date, this one sounds even better. I can't believe, however, that while the American release date is 3 December, we have to wait until March 2004!

December Third it comes in the U.S............

YAHOO!!!

Yeah BABY!!! The first time through was very fun! Second time through was even better! Now a sequel YEE HAWW!!

And you pick sides ho boy ho boy!! I read a preview that the director of the game is trying to make it so that you can go through the game. WITHOUT taking out your weapon. The game is actually set and ready to go it's just that ION is polishing it up to make it shine! After this they will focus all their efforts on Thief 3!! I heard rumors they are making a Thief movie!! I'll come back to see if the rumors are true!
