As far as Shogun is concerned... What are some of your strategies?

Do you like archers? or rifles for that matter? Usually i stay away from them until recently i've been getting into using guns to change it up.

I dread facing Buddhist monks in battle and always try to keep any monks that i have ready to get in the way of the enemies.

Does anyone use Christian emissaries?

Whats the hardest province to conquer? I have trouble with Sado that little island.. and Shinano is a bitz to defend.

Shogun strategy? I just use Geisha to kill the Daimyo and Good stats generals. The enemy will then turn into rebel state. then only I attack them. I just let the computer to decide my battle.

I only use a couple of horse archer detachments in every army i create. I found out that tactics aren't really important in Shogun. Just go in with lots of heavy cavalry and you'll run right over them. I do send out a lot of ninjas and geishas though, to weaken their armies. I never go after the Daimyo though, í want to take his head myself.

I never allow Christian emmissaries in the land, your people will get divided, and it's not good for morale of the troops.

Sado can indeed be a tough cookie, that's why i have that as one of my own provinces. I always start on the right side of the map, can't remember the clan's name there.

I also have the add on, in which you can cycle through different timelines. A few new buildings and new units have been added in it. And even better.... you have a chance to play Genghis Kahn and invade Japan with his Mongol hordes. That's pretty hard, since you don't have buildings to create new troops. You depend on reinforcements from overseas.

Well I never palyed Shogun..Just Medieval..But my stragegy usally involved marching very slowly towards the enemy and then when I get at a reasonable postion I thorw my archer up front untill they get at a close enough range to shoot and then lure the other army out and then send in calvary

Artillery is awsome in M:TW..Whats everyone favorite faction? I think mine would be the Byzantines..Pretty powerfull...Followed closley by the Russians..Steppe Calvary works wonders with the above stratagey

Unlike Shogun and Medieval you can place castles and armies anywhere you like on the strategy map which could open up some real strategic possibilties.

I got the Medieval one from a friend 2 days ago, and I only got 4 hours of sleep since then, I love that game!

I always let the computer handle the battles, so I don't really care about the strategic value of units. Just send a bunch of Knights with some filler, and you'll own anything.

For a very LONG time, there where inquisditors in two of my lands, killing off all my troups, before I realised it was actually a real unit, and not just some kind of event, now I'm making tons of assasins to take care of them.

Also, the pope really get on my nerve, I am christian, the strogest nation in the world, and own all of the holy land, am alied with the pope and most christian nations, and he send about 10 assasins per years after me. As soon as I am done with my current conquest and I can find a direct way to the papal state, I'll teach him not to send assasins after me.
