I concur with MC.
The original name was Divinity : Sword of Lies, however CDV (the publisher) changed it to Divine Divinity & realy upset Larian. The game is a massive, fairly non-linear CRPG with about 200 hrs. gameplay (I believe). The game is seamless & can be played as a hack-n-slash or adventure with combat or roleplaying (also with combat). I suggest you refer to larian.com for further info.
Have fun with the 400mb download demo.

From the official FAQ:

The minimum specs to be able to play the game well are a PII 450Mhz with 128Mb of RAM, 8MB of video memory, a 4X speed CDROM drive, a 100% Directsound compatible soundcard, and 1.7GB free HDD space

The abovementioned FAQ is worth checking out, albeit it has not been updated after the release

Many thanks for all your warm welcomes.

I think this game is best played on the *highest* resolution. Although it isn't going to win nay awards for ground-breaking graphics there are some really nice touches (the reflections in the water and fairly detailed avatars being two of them...the spell effects are also as good as anything in an IE game).

The one thing I will say is that this is possibly the biggest CRPG I've *ever* played, period. And the world is one continuously scrolling screen, no 'load' or transition areas/breaks!

As for the "Ranger" question. Monte Cook, one of the designers of the new 3E game wrote a ranger variant known as the "Monte Cook ranger" or the alt.ranger. I'm not Monte Cook (I'm better looking ), just another fan (although I've been around a while). Monte is Mr. Cook's real name. Mone is my nick, after the European casino resort. It's just a coincidence.

For the record, his ranger is much better than the 3E D&D core version.

Cheers
MC

Ah, Monte, I see you got my request alright! Black Isle said that you private messaged me back but perhaps I read wrong. I couldn't figure out how to access PMs anyway. Great to see your name on these boards. This is a tremendous community with tremendous people (of course there is an occasional troll). The moderators are some of the best on the web. Do you or anyone else know if the game has been released in the Staes yet?
