Is there no armor for the horse?
Are you spozed to get off to fight?
I couldn't fight worth a darn in Sacred from a horse, so I just ran around everywhere.

I know what you mean about the draw distance Hive (well, the distance it draws to is fine, it's the LOD that's all to pot) - it was the first thing I noticed when I walked outside (it would have been nice for them to give us our first taste of outside in an area that didn't look like a saggy, pimple ridden arse). Try this:

Locate Oblivion.ini (should be in My Documents -> My Games etc)
Backup file
uGridsToLoad = 10 (5 default) - this should make distant terrain much sharper
uNumDepthGrids = 1 (3 default) - this mostly should fix the water problems
