Or quickload after you've just gotten after a tough fight.

Exactly. Which is one reason why the XBOX Version is sometimes better...

Actually, I never use quickload, so I delete the key. I don't know why anyone would want to use XBOX for a game as complex as MW. Back on topic: One "epic" encouter I remember having, was exterminating this family, I can't remember which one. They had the daedric armor, and had slaves?

SPOILERS
I remember the first time I fought Dagoth Ur in Red Mountain. I was playing as a fairly well experienced Kahjitt Thief. I kept running around him and shooting him whilst trying to dodge his magic blasts, got hit several times, and had to drink many potions to stay alive. So I kept shooting and eventually ran out of arrows (my marksmanship was still pretty low at this point). Then I came up and kept hitting him with a series of strikes from my Dwemer Jinksword then my enchanted Daedric Wakizashi. I was horrified to see his health completely regenerate after I got it quite low and then I'm thinking, "Holy s**t, he really is a god!" Then I rememberred about how I was supposed to beat him by destroying the Heart of Lorkhan. Promlem was that I forgot how to do it! So I saved and went after the heart and tried several different combos with sunder and keening until I finally figured it out. Once the cool little animation of the Heart shrinking into nothingness was over, Ur went down with little problem. |

@ SirD: Sounds like you had a slaughter and loot fest at the Dren Estate. I remember having to go back there several times to pick more of those priceless-in-the-early-middlegame daedric items.
My plot based showdown with Dren himself was fairly memorable in a sense aswell, although it might have been harder and more intense if I'd tried to do it of my own volition earlier in the game. I think if the game fails to yield an interesting battle, that could also be saying something about one's approach to combat more than anything. I quite like reading about roleplaying inspired creativity in strange battles and the odd little details that one notices at the time.
