aha! thanks very much for that

*thinks back to the ways of building your character in TES series*

i wonder if you could actually go thru a series of scenarios when you design your character, and act the way you want your character to act... y'know? instead of playing 20 questions and having only 3 choices to each one about the way your char would respond.

like in the dog scenario... you could set the dog on fire just because you're mean; you could convince someone nearby to feed it, so it calms down; you might even egg it on by dangling food in it's face to see if it'll attack a person; or go get a guard to act as "animal control" and haul it off to the pound.

hmmm... that could be interesting.
This is also in. Seems like Oblivion is everything everyone wanted.

Read the newest E3 demo reviews, in some they explained that the way you play the starting dungeon (the Imperial Prison where you see the emperor die) will determine your class. Now, nowing TES, this is probably optional, and you will get the ability to choose your own class if you don't like what they give you.

The whole game looks amazing, although I am interested as to the combat, because in morrowind, the fighting got boring. I'm not talking about the new system, I'm talking enemys. It would be cool if there were caves with huge monsters in, things like that, I'm not talking minataurs or orcs either....I'm talking dragons and demons Becuase in morrowind I feel that the enemys are all a bit lame after a while, they don't prove any challenge to kill, for higher levels I'd like to see huge creatures, for a bit of freelance work, so if I feel like going to get myself killed by a dragon, I could do so.....One of my problems with morrowind hehe, so I'm interested to see the types of random encounters there are in Oblivion....

One thing I read about the combat was that it was just a bit more action oriented (of course intertwined with your character's stats). For example, if you have a shield you'll need to strike a key at the right time to try to block an attack rather than having it automatically block. I hope they take away the 'automatically swing for maximum damage' option too - like when you had a slashing blade it would always slash the same way. Giving different chances to hit and different damages per type of swing only matter if you choose what to do and when.

I definately agree that the monsters were way too easy in Morrowind. That is, until you get a mod like the Giants mod, and you get pummeled into the ground by a giant at 3rd level lol.

Well, I've read about the shield thing, and that they are taking away the maximum damage feture.

To advance on Lucern's post a bit

Each weapon has 1 damage range, the damage you deal is decided by the way you swing your weapon and your characters stats, and where you hit the opponent, also the condition of the weapon, and the armour on the part of the body that you strike. There's alot that goes into it, there's no one way to deal the most damage you can, everything is relevant So they game won't just be hacking and slashing with the same attacks, you can also have little stratagies, because fo a new thing called 'Recoil'. If an attack gets blocked by a shield, the attacker will possably be knocked off-balance for a second, because of the recoil caused by the weapon on the shield. This could also change combat hugley, turning a loosing fight into a victory in a signle block I've also read that they're including new attacks, and movements to use in fights, 'power attacks'. Basicly, it takes longer to do, but when you do hit, it hits hard. So, if you're loosing a fight and manage to use the recoil effect with a block, then stand to hit with a power attack, that could be the opponents fate sealed right there. There's also new things to do in fights like spins, so you can spin out the way of an attack and swing your weapon to strike aswell as avoid being hit yourself. Moving back to the blocking thing, you can also block with your weapon, so if you don't have a shield handy you can parry too. Although, if in a fist fight at any point (not the most common thing for me...) you can't block with your hands or arms, but I doubt many people get in fights with your hands anyway. That's another thing, you don't have to smahs down their fatigue to do damage with your hands anymore, punches take off life aswell as fatigue It sounds like the new system is going to be shweet

Anyway, something a little more relevant to the topic, Is that Ian McKellen in the trailer? It sounds alot like his voice to me...
