I prefer fighter too though I tend to go for master of all 3. I prefer nords as it's race bonus is invalueable.

For optimum NPC reactions one could always use an Imperial Knight. A personality score of 85 just starting the game makes things unbelievably easier. Everybody starts out loving you and prices plummet.

I'm on the mission that the Balmora chick gives you. Where you have to go check out Orc problems for a farmer named Alof or was it Afol? northeast of Pelgiad, problem is I can't find where the blasted orcs are holed up. So I'm in the middle of the island surrounded by nothing but desolation. Any advice would be welcome. Oh yeah. I did already talk to the farmer. He's found north of Pelgiad across the huge lake. Near one of the stops on the pilgrims path.

Fly??? Did I mention that I'm a knight? I don't fly. I walk, run, beat-up, and heal. I tend to play knights in a sort of puritan style. Anyways thanks for the directions. I just realised I had headed nw for some reason by accident.

I'm a knight too, but i do fly a lot, with the wizard staff. Couldn't do without that thing anymore. Saves a lot of time on the road.

fly, leviatate or even jump across the mountain. it's faster that way and you won't get lost.

North/South: no problem

East/West: I can't count the times I've headed in the wrong direction. Must be those dang Blight storms.

when you fly watch the little 1 inch square box with the arrow in it and you will be able to maintain direction and remember up is north ,left is west, right is East, and down is south if you keep this in site you'll go where you want no matter what weather conditions are.
