Sleeping certainly is easier/cheaper but there are times when this isn't practical. And soul stones (even full) are a dime a dozen!

sleeping make you waste game time. besides in tribunal it is dangerous to sleep.

If you have 100 Enchant you wont need soulgems to recharge your items.

it depends on the items enchant cost actually. at enchant skill at 100 I still notice my Goldbrand loses it's enchantment. so the more time you use the item the faster the enchantment deplete.

That is, the more skilled you are at enchanting, the faster your items recharge over time. But with legendary items with many charges depleted, simply it's not fast enough.

eltonbrand is a better single handed long sword than goldbrand. probably the best single handed long sword in morrowind
