The one which kills your enemy in one nanosecond...
seriously I don't know, never played any true mage.
Actually, I agree with you.

There are a number of protective spells which are useful in specific situations - ie a spell which resists electricity if you're attacked by a Storm Atronach. OTOH, I find that the ability to develop combat skills and the good light armor (love that glass armor!), plus the ability to create constant effect enchancted objects for such spells as levitation and chameleon, mean that I can spend my time concentrating on offensive spells and have less need for defensive ones, except in special situations.

Which is actually kind of cool. It's fun to be able to create a well-rounded character for a change. My mage wears glass armor and wields a nice custom short sword. That's not such a bad thing. One of the things that Morrowind does is to make mincemeat of the idea that a mage has to be a wimp who swishes around wearing robes and carrying a staff or a tank has to be a big dummy who does hack 'n slash and no magic. There's really no limit on what a character can become in Morrowind.

in outdoor combat, just leviatate and blast monster sky high.
in indoor combat, just paralyse and blast them sky high.

becareful with making mega powerful spell as this cost a lot and need lots of mana to cast.

there's mod out there that will help rejuvenate your magicka over time.

also there this morrowind amulet mod where you can convert fatigue into magicka per cast.

I would think so, though I haven't tried. You would have to buy enchanted items rather than make them yourself, but between constant effect items and potions, I don't see why not.
