If you are able to complete all of the quests for one of the great houses, then you will get a sub quest that gives you some chores involved with building your own house. after youve finished the house quests, you have your very own, spiffy, brand spankin new....house. Enjoy.

And AEON, dude, relax, you yourself are pretty new to this forum.
this is a place where people can hang out, get questions answered and share information with each other. there is no need to bash on anyone just because they didnt talk about morrowind. and as for getting banned for not following the "rules", i think Z-man wouldnt ban anyone for straying a bit off topic.

so take a chill pill and have fun, this is a FRIENDLY community...

I'm still working on getting the Redoran Stronghold when I got side-tracked exploring all of the ruins while water walking over to/from Azura's shrine. Anyways, on the last long walk to Bal Isra to "review construction", the thought occured to me that I'm going to get tired of walking to and/or from my new stronghold (not to mention trying to get the myriad of +10,000gp items out of Casius's place in Balmora).

Heard on another forum that some folks managed to get one of the Mage's Guild guildmasters into their house so they could Mark the house and get teleported back out. Anyone do something like this, or similar?

Early on in the game I wiped out the Camona in Balmora - the house is called the council club. I have since used it to leave all my stuff. It's next to the Silt transport, so very convenient for commuting!

Well in my first game I used Falanaamo the clothier in Caldera, her house is large with many shelves, chests and crates, just taunt her into attacking you and you're good to go. I'm pretty sure that you don't need her for any quests, so that should be all right.
But the Telvanni have someone who builds strongholds, i've completed the chores they want me to do but it says that the construction will begin soon, does anyone know how long it takes?

Actually guys/gals
my friend told me that you can lock your stuff up where ever you want to as long as there is a chest around. YOu have to have learned the lock skill and place a lock on one of the containers so that the game will save you stuff in the game there as inventory space. i have no idea if thios works i never tried yet. So i thought i'd pass it along anyway.

I have heard of people "losing" their stuff from chests or crates that "belong" tp NPCs, but I have never had any trouble. For a while I kept stuff piled on the floor behind a planter in the Vivec Foreign Quarter Plaza. Then I took possesion of a farm NorthWest of Vivec. I keep all my potion ingredients there in a couple of chests and barrels. I keep all my weapons, armor and potions on or next to the mud crab merchant. (I have over 600k in gold so now I just drop anything over 10k on the ground next to him. Whenever I drop off a load, I barter another 10k worth of stuff.) Soon my Telvanni stronghold will be finished and I will be able to move in. I'm thinking of doing it next weekend and will buy ash yams and crab meat for anyone who wants to help me move. I figure if we get 3 or 4 strong people we could do it in 2 trips (although I do have a lot of ebony, so maybe 3 trips).

But like I said, I've never had any trouble keeping my stuff at the above locations. And I've never locked anything up. Well, I did lock the chest holding my gems, but when I found out that I didn't get a key to it, I left it unlocked.

Download the Bank Mod from the Dragonsight web page, it is excellent as you can store your cash and earn Interest, get loans etc and also purchase some houses with no over the top weapons in them, keeps the balance of the game very well. The only problem is it has problems running with The Hlaalu better stronghold Mod if you are running that.
