Lucy sniffed the chill air for a moment, "I don't know about that, the wyrm lacks subtlety, and we know about one or two Black Spiral Dancers that can mask their taint from our gifts, but their deformities usually give them away fairly easily, or the tattoo's, from the rumors I've heard these guys are empowered by something else, maybe the Wyld is turning a few humans into her champions, trying to get them to "take back the night" and set them up to stand on their own feet, it wouldn't be the first time the wyld has done something inexplicable.

Zorana sighed in frustration. The only question now was how to deal with this new threat, but that was the answer they were waiting to recieve from the elders.

The howling died down and a few minutes later the elders arrived, some looked tense, and others looked irritated, but on the average they looked uneasy.

Calms the Fears, the Child of Gaia, spoke up, his voice dry and soft, like the wind blowing across dry parchment, but with a sense of peace, rather than the anxiety the others felt.

"You've all come from many different places, and you all have many skills to offer, and so we shall choose the pack, and then set you upon your mission."

A canvas sack was procured and seven stones of white and black were dropped in, "Those who draw white stones stay here, those who draw black, go with Scratches at Fleas (the Bone Gnawer Elder)."

Four white stones were placed in the bag, with three black stones, Eric Blacktooth drew the first, George Fritz drew second, and pulled a black stone, then Lucy pulled, and also drew black, Zorana pulled a white stone from the bag, and so did Darius, Martin SoaringEagle drew next and covered it in his hands, not showing it, the Speaks till Dawn pulled the final stone, he and Martin both showed their hands at the same time, both white stones.

Growling a curse the shadowlord stormed away, and Lucy walked down the hill, sadly. The Shadowlord elder walked down the hill with Scratches at Fleas conversing in low tones the others couldn't hear.

"It seems that five were chosen, not the four we planned. Very well, you should spend the next day getting to know each other, because you shall rely on each other for survival in the coming days. Whatever these newly empowered humans are doing they are enemies to our enemies, they have fought spirits of the restless dead, vampires, fomori (humans possesed by Wyrm Spirits), and have even come to odds with mages, in addition to a few reported attacks on city dwelling werewolves.

"You shall all be furnished with a few minor items of power, Speaks already has a klaive he inherited from his father, Zorana, your gift shall be a clip prepared by your elder."

A clip that looks like it would fit a 9mm pistol is handed to you by your elder. "it will fit nearly any handgun, and never run out of amunition.

"Eric, You will be given Luna's Veil, it will conceal you for several minutes when you wear it, it should shield you from the sight of these humans when needed." (it's an amulet that can be worn around the neck regardless of form)

"Darius, you will be given these tokens, they are called Nightshade, put one under your tongue and you will become a shadow for one hour, they should be very useful if you require stealth.

"and finally Martin, five Bane arrows are your gift, prepared by your elder to protect you, use them wisely." (bane arrows automatically hit and severely damage evil spirits)

When the time is up you are to meet with Caylus (the Glasswalker elder) and he will have arranged transport for you to Nevada where you will hopefully meet with the Hunters.

After accepting the amulet Eric decided he should take the elder's advice as well and learn about his new companions. "I suppose i should get to know you if im going to have to rely on your help," Eric stated as he walked up to Darius, then as an afterthought added, "Do you think you'll live through this quest?"

Smiling, Zorana pulled out her sleek handgun and unloaded the current clip, placing it in her jacket pocket. She loaded the new one from her elder and slid the gun back into a holster at her hip (hidden by her jacket). She loved her gun, and it was even better now that she would never run out of bullets. Her ears twitched at Eric's question,
"Whether we live or die, we can only hope that we will be able to aid our brethren against this new threat." She pushed back her red hair and grinned, "Plus, if we're going to Nevada, there's only one place in that state where these enemies would be."

Nodding wisely, the GW elder added, "Remember, you are not in a bubble, there are a few Garou in Vegas, bone gnawers and glasswalkers primarily, be warned, the glasswalkers there are one of the main strongholds of the cyberwolves," when the others looked confused he added, "the cyberwolves are glass walkers who have enhanced themselves with technology, they are cold ruthles bastards in a bit too deep with the weaver, but they should help us put down a few cadavers, just don't turn your backs on them, and try to find the bone gnawer Caern of Luck, if you can rest there perhaps a few luck spirits will favour you. Tomorrow you will meet another ally who has a different experience with these hunters."

OOC: a caern is a resevoir of spiritual energy for werewolves, and have a great many properties that can be useful to either side of the fight, good or evil.

ah yes, the warrior steps forth and is ready, but the wise man watch's and knows when to strike" Darius replies with a smile to Erics question. I am not worried about my survival, those who walk in the shadows, shall in the end be judged by there shadow. I am rather looking forward to this, it has been a few moons since I have traveled, and my father and my elders have taught me many skill's.

Zorana took her elder's words to heart. She knew cyberwolves were dangerous, but also that they knew much, and could be extremely useful to them.
"So, my compnaions, what states do you hail from?" She had almost said cities, woops!

"Whether WE, live or die? I Worry only about myself" Eric retorted snidely. "And if you must know i hail from no state, but the northern territories of Canada. It was quite a journey to get here." "Foolish one," Eric continued to Darius, "Why walk in the shadows when you can walk in the brilliance of battle." He then stalked off hoping his words would spark a fight in the near future, he was getting restless.
