Tyra laughed, and prudently mentioned they should quicken their pace. Arriving at the kitchens, she allowed Skye to talk to the cook, still slightly intimidated and more then a little shy.

After politely inquiring where the location of the food was, the trio tromped off to the large banquet hall. Warning Damion not to relieve some poor soul of their meal, Skye spotted Aeris across the room. "Hey!" she called, waving to him. Tugging on Tyra's sleeve, they wove across the room through the crowds to his side. "How's the food?" Skye asked with a grin. "We're hungry!"

Alliene remained still long enough for the male to finish his sentence before she knocked the blade away and drew her own swords. Fully out of their sheaths, they illuminated the area around her enough to show 2 startled drow males. They recovered quickly, and one made a quick cutting motion at her. Dodging the blade easily, Alliene reversed Vilzraquath's blade in her hand and jammed the drow hard in his stomach with the sapphire pommel, causing the hapless male to drop to his knees, wheezing. The other drow swung as if to take off her head. Dancing back, she brought Nizzre forward to meet his blade. A quick circular motion with her sword against his flung the blade from his hand and she tripped him neatly with her foot. Taking a knee next to him, Alliene brought Nizzre forward and lay the smooth metal along his cheek so she could see him clearly. Deep purple eyes stared up at her in surprise and fear,
"Waela jaluk," she said to him with narrowed eyes, "Usstan uil nau kivvil. Usstan uil Alliene Silverwater, Ilharess d'ust qu'ellar Streea. Detholusin Sargtlin d'Shar,"

The male's eyes had widened at the mention of being Matron, wider at the First House title, and were opping when she mentioned being the Chosen Warrior. Both males scrambled up as she rose and bowed deeply,
"Forgive us, Chosen," The male she had socked in the stomach breathed in common, "Our kind usually enter from a different entrance..." he trailed off unsteadily when he looked at her cold flat eyes, "If you are truly Her Chosen, you will find your way through the void without hinderance,"
Alliene nodded stiffly at them and peered into the unrevealing blackness. A breeze issued from the depths and stirred her hair around her face, pulling gently to the left. Smiling to herself, Alliene closed her eyes and let the wind guide her, setting her feet firmly down on the hard stone floor.

Translation
"Waela jaluk, usstan uil nau kivvil. Usstan uil Alliene Silverwater, Ilharess d'ust qu'ellar Streea. Detholusin Sargtlin d'Shar.=Foolish male, I am no surfacer. I am Alliene Silverwater, Matron of First House Streea. Chosen Warrior of Shar

Zachana yawned and fiddled with her hair. After bathing, she had tied her knee-length hair up in a high tail, though the ends still touched half-way up her thighs. The sun was just starting to set, and her stomach was grumbling. Muttering to herself about not being able to hunt properly, she headed down to the kitchens in search of food, and finding Shadow in the same predicament.
"Hello, my half-elven delight," she chimed as she noticed him, "Are you hungry as well? Follow me to the kitchens," she took his hand and guided him through the marble corridors and down a couple flights of stairs to the kitchens. Enticing smells wafted out of the large arch-way, and all the dragon could think about was getting some sort of cooked animal. She ordered a large steak from the cook and winked at Shadow, "I didn't get the chance to punish you for your impudence last night, half-elf. Why don't we settle it after dinner?"
A few of the servants cast pitiful glances at Shadow. They had seen Avalon angry, and for all they knew, her eager grin could have been a hungry one.

Verloren sat cross legged on her large four postered bed. The posts were polished redwood of sinuous dragons that reached up to support the maroon silk canvas that hung between them. Pillows and sheets matching the overhead canvas covered her bed, as well as a large comforter with griffon-down feathers. Avalon paced in front of her, arms crossed beneath his chest, casting dark looks at a small vial that sat on one of her writing desks. It glinted a light pink as the failing sunlight sent in its feeble rays through the dark blue silken drapes.
"Avalon, calm down. You're making too much of a big deal about this," Verloren watched him with dull red eyes of annoyment.
"Calm? How can I be calm? I'm about to get you with child. It's too much stress!" His spiked hair wavered as he shook his head.
"It is not going to be different than anything else. It should be special!"
Avalon's silver orbs bore down on her as he stopped pacing, "Do you know how many dragons do this? Not many! And most of those are the damned evil chromatic colors who force themselves upon unwilling elves and humans with that damned fertilization spell on their tongues!"
"But you and I are different! You know this. We are in love, and that makes the whole situation different,"
"I can't believe I agreed to this," he muttered, pulling his eyes away from hers, "Birthing a half-dragon child kills the mother more often than not,"
Frowning, Verloren rose to her knees and pulled Avalon down to sit on the edge of the bed. She placed her fingers on his neck and kneaded the tense muscles, using her healing touch to help loosen them, "We'll be fine," she whispered into his ear, "Just trust me like you always do, and nothing will go wrong,"
Avalon relaxed under her touch, "I hope you're right"

ic:Khalraan came into the room, and said to no-one in particular
'sorry, I was just unpacking my stuff, missus Verloren's rooms are so big it takes ages to get from one side to the other.'
Grinning, he sat down at the table, and his eyes widened
'Food!'
Khal was soon munching away at the laid out meal, stuffing his face.

Calaethis finished his bath, his hair freshly washed, and dried himself, and went to his room. The child was still asleep, he assumed, and proceeded to dress himself. He doned a finely made tunic, pastal grey-lightblue, and breeches of matt-black. He sighed muttering to Tagnkik "I wonder where everyone else is." The sword replied that they were probably eating. Calaethis checked in on Sylquis, who was still sleeping peacefully - he made sure the door was firmly locked, and went back to his room to read a book, and practise his bladesmanship.

Calaethis finished reading his book, and Tagnik finished reading it as well, adding additional comentry as it progressed. The book was on tactics of war, defenses mainly, earthworks and the like.

Sylquis awoke, feeling refreshed. Climbing out of bed, she went to Calaethis's bedchamber, still dressed in only her shift. Spotting Calaethis, she walked over to him, on soft feet. He turned around, smiled and motioned she sit beside him. Instead, she held out her arms, and Calaethis gathered her into his lap. Contentedly, she rested her head against him. Stroking her long, golden hair, Calaethis asked if she'd slept well. She nodded, and thanked him. Calaethis looked at the girl he'd saved, her pale elven features, still childlike, but promised great beauty as she matured, she was already showing signs of it. It was quite clear, already that she was pretty, if not cute, and her thin, clinging shift proved this, if he'd have looked hard, Calaethis could have made out several of her features, though the thin linen. He choose not to. She looked up at him, her icy-grey-lightgreen-blue eyes, which had looked green-grey in the underdark, had seemed to gain blue frost upon them since entering the surface. Calaethis returned her smile, and patted her behind, "Sylquis dear, I think you should get dressed now, don't you? You already bathed today?" She shook her head, "No, I don't think I have bathed." Calaethis smiled at the girl, "Well, I suggest you take one then. If you need anything, call me ok?" he gave her a suddenly wry look, "You can bathe yourself can't you?" the girl blushed a rosy-red, "Of course I can!" she replied indigently; she knew him well enough by now to know he wouldn't mind, and she was less afraid generally, around him. He smiled, and lifted her to the floor, "Run along now, then dear." "Yes daddy" she shot back, and gave him a pert smile. He laughed, "I asked for that."

Alliene sat in the void on folded legs, her hands folded in her lap, swords on either side of her to provide meager light. The wind was pushing softly against her back, but she ignored it, for now. Tireless hours of walking in pitch blackness was not something she was used to, and it was beginning to wear on her mind,
"How much more of this pointless wandering must I endure?" she muttered to no one in particular, and the wind pushed on her harder, whipping her hair from her back to stream like a flag in front of her. Sighing, she picked up her swords and stood, sheathing them reluctantly, and being thrown into darkness again. She followed the winds gentle tugs and prods, and after another uneventful hour of trudging, the breeze stopped. Frowning, Alliene cast fruitlessly about with her eyes, and stuck out a hand uncertainly, drawing it back swiftly with a curse as her knuckles banged into hard rock. There was a hum, and the rock she had smacked lit up. Well, more like some unidentifiable light shined down on it without a noticable source, but at least she could see. The rock turned out to be slick black obsidian. A large round base with ancient drow scriptings supported a life sized statue of the Demi-goddess Herself. Alliene hesitantly reached out and touched one of Her extended hands, and was suprised when it felt warm and smooth...alive. Frowning, she glanced at the dark face of the statue. Her features were soft and vibrant, but they looked no more alive then the floor Alliene stood on did. Sighing, Alliene bent down to read the inscriptions on the base. Most of it was extravegant stories of how Shar came to be and the warriors she brought to the surface. One particular area mentioned a water breathing drow...Alliene stared. That part about water breathing drow was written in sea-elf!
"Hello, Alliene," a mystic voice eminated from the statue, causing Alliene to jump. The statue had animated itself...no...Shar had taken the statue. The ankle-length hair was shining white and the eyes a deep violet instead of black. Alliene immediatley folded herself in front of the Demi-goddess,
"I have come, as you directed, my Goddess,"
Shar's deep melodious voice chuckled, "Rise, my Warrior,"
Alliene stood quickly and looked askance at Shar.
"My Child, long have I thought on what I am about to say. You know that the Gods are immortal, but We do not enjoy tarrying about this world, helping the mortals in their paths, and battling amongst Ourselves. Most of Us leave for another world or live out Our lives as mortals. When that happens, We bring up Our Chosen, to take Our places," Shar's deep violet eyes stared ominously at Alliene.
"You...you cannot possibly mean me..." Alliene breathed in disbelief.
"I do, Alliene. But do not worry. When you die, and your mortal life is over, you will join Me and spend near to century to learn the task of the Demi-goddess, and when I leave, you will assume my form and carry out my work,"
The first thought that popped into Alliene's mind was how she would deal with having ankle-long hair before the realization set in upon her,
"I..do not know what to say, Goddess...how can I ever repay you?"
"Simple," Shar smiled a small smile, "Your work after me is the perfect repayment," She extended Her hand.
Blinking, Alliene reached out and took it. In an instant it felt as if her skin was on fire, then it receded. She looked at her hand...it was black. Drow black. So were her arms and face. She quickly raised a hand to behind an ear. Her gills were still there, thankfuly, "What did you do?" she demanded.
"Begun the process of making you Mine child," Shar leaned forward and palced a kiss on Alliene's forhead, then waved her hand. Alliene felt a wrenching and was thrown into darkness again.

Verloren lay on her stomach, arms beneath her large pillow, body bare under the sheer silken sheets. The vial sat empty on her nightstand. Avalon had left only a few minutes ago. Perhaps he wasn't ready to be a father but...Gods, he was over 500 years old! Shivering, she pulled the sheets tighter around herself. The sweat that had covered her moments ago had evaporated away to leave her cool and without a man to keep her warm. Bloody dragon...sighing, Verloren pulled herself from bed and dug out a scarlet silk robe and matching slippers made from the best wool. Running a brush through her messed hair to hide her previous actions, she stole out of her room and wandered her estates corridors, eyes cast to the ground, thinking about the child that was now growing inside her.
