Skye nodds in agreement and pulls her harp out. She starts to play a slow, pleasant melody that has an almost bewitched air about it.

For Skye and Elif

GLOOMWOOD

Her hands glide along the strings of her harp and at their touch a rich tonality fills the air around her. She is gifted and the strength of her gift is evident in the song but there is more than her giftedness within the melody. The air near her instrument stirs into movement its breezes holding the tones of her harp and repeating them adding a soft, almost whispered harmony to her song. The globes of color near the ruin flash with a bright and malignant intensity at her approach but the strangely full sound of a harp skillfully played within a responsive and musical wind gives them pause. They grow still hovering nearby at the very edge of the moving air that holds her song within its breezy motion and the intensity of their bluish silver color fluctuates as if resisting the impulse to flash in time with the notes of her song.

ooc: OK - so far things are working peacefully. Let’s see where you take it from here.

BTW - Just got word that the draft of my proposal argument was very well received so it looks like I'm starting to see some real light at the end of the grad school tunnel.

Thousands of thoughts run around her mind as she tries to figure out what to do first. She closes her eyes and leans against him, and sighs deciding to just enjoy the moment. She fears these moments will be few and far between from now on....

Suddenly she opens her eyes as a thought strikes her...

She leans back against him. Wrapping his arms around her he relaxes in this calming closeness. His own thoughts pause a moment in their movement as her breathing slows to a more a relaxed cadence. ~ Yes ~ he smiles ~ the breathing between us has grown strong indeed. ~ Now is not the time to raise the question as to whether it has grown strong enough for what will surely come and so he lets that thought fall silent that he might enjoy the simple strength of these few moments. She stirs in his embrace and he loosens his arms that she might move freely. Remaining silent himself he waits for her to speak.
