Since his plan had already included a visit to the elves in the jungle before he was suggested that course of action, he had no objections to going there after he got back to the surface in his own clothes and with his own pack. He'd put on the amulet again, hoping to discover a positive side to balance it's uselessness in battle, just like the blurring vision was balanced by the increase of the other senses. Or perhaps the increase did not balance the decrease, but rather the other way around. He didn't know, and had other things to think about anyway.

"Tell me something," he said to one of the rebels. "Why were we held prisoner in the first place?"

Varja

"All of the prisoners are at least slightly high-ranking among their races, or just in their particular society. The Queen has been using most of them to get a hold on the various nearby races, the Lizardmen for example, they had equal power over the lake and commanded many of the creatures that dwelt in it's depths until the Queen captured the Shaman's son. In return for him surviving they would attack any that ventured near the lake, preferrably driving him out into the deep waters."

"I expect that you want to leave this place by now, just wait a moment while we get your clothes and pack." The rebel Elf left and a short while later another rebel that Varja recognized as the Lake Elf that showed him there in the first place returned with his pack and clothes. She then left the small room in which he'd talked with the other rebel in order to allow him to get changed.

OOC: Sorry, didn't notice this thread earlier...

IC: Encard casts an invisibility spell on himself, then climbs up out of the pit to find a kender standing at the top, and hears the threat made by the voice in the trees. He wonders who it could be. Deciding to investigate, he quietly moves toward the trees.

Encard

Looking amongst the trees Encard sees what is clearly a Sylvan(Wood) Elf.

Encard thinks for a few moments, then quitely mutters a spell to put a small zone of silence around his feet and bag of holding, and moves to a bit behind the elf. He quitely casts a spell to make his voice, when he speaks, seem to come from all dierections, then pulls a lightning wand from his bag and puts it in line with the elf's back. He asks quitely, "So... why exactly are you threatening the kender, friend elf? I'd not suggest making any sudden movements, as I currently have a wand pointed at you. Oh, and have you seena ny cows lately?" Encard waits patiently for a reply.

She immediately stands stock still, and tries not to giggle.

"What kind of arrowhead is that? Is that ebony or silver? Did you use ash to make the arrow body? BOY, you must be pretty good to sneak up on me, course I was just looking down in this hole, and admiring the workmanship of the rope..., of course looks like someone else is even better at sneaking then you.. hmmm.. HEY, is that your rope? That's a good job! My name is Kayla, what's yours? Can I turn around now? HOw did you know I'm a kender, have you seen one before, or are there other kender here? If there are, where are they? I wonder if they are related to me........"

As she talks, she slowly turns around, and crosses her arms in front of her, waiting for this rude person to introduce himself, and the wizard to make him into swiss cheese...

(OOC: Exxon and RedBlueFlare, beginning shortly after I awaken you'll have some more fun than sitting around in a cage.... So fear not )

Kayla & Encard
Getting into a fight?

First the Sylvan is startled by the voice coming from some unseen source near him and then by the kender suddenly blabbering. He fires the arrow off into the woods at random and runs off, unfortunately the direction he chooses to run off in is the pit that Encard just escaped from.

The Elf falls down and miraculously, like Encard, misses all of the spikes. Instead he hits the hard dirt bottom and is knocked unconscious.

Her mouth drops open as the Elf shoots carelessly into the woods, then as he runs straight for the pit. As she starts to yell "watch out", he disappears and a thud is heard.

She turns back around, and grinning at the wizard, she giggles, "BOY, I bet THAT had to hurt!!!".

She grabs her hoopak, and as she walks to the pit, she says over her shoulder, "SO, whats your name? I'm Kayla, nice to meet you. Nice sneaking you did there, did you throw your voice? Was it heavy? Where did you come from? Are you with the camp? OOO, did YOU make that rope? Did you.............."

Her questions go on and on as she keeps walking to the edge of the pit.....

Encard laughs cheerfully at Kayla's seemingly unending questions. He replies, "I'm Encard... no, I didn't quite throw my voice... it's sort of magicish... hmm... weasels are great! Don't you agree! Behold the power of cow!" Encard walks over to the pit and uses a minor spell to move the unconcious elf's weapons away from him, setting them by him (err... by Encard, not the elf). Encard mutters something for a moment, then says, "Hmm... let me see if I have anything that would wake him up a bit sooner... I wonder why he had that bow pointed at you there... hmm... cows..." Encard begins thinking, trying to remeber if he has any appropriate spells ready.

Orlandu & Atryven

Night had fallen on the third day of their captivity. Everything was quiet yet there was tension in the air, both Orlandu and Atryven could feel that something would happen soon. Neither of them could get to sleep yet instead sat awake in their cage till all was almost perfect darkness.... Then the first arrow was fired.

The prison camp at the foot of the great trees was suddenly in chaos, someone was attacking but the darkness made it impossible for the two humans to see who it was. All around them there was the sound of combat and of people dying. Arrows flew past their cage, and in a few cases through it, missing them by inches.

Suddenly one single noise caught their attention in the darkness, the lock on their cage had been opened! The cage door swung open slowly, the one who'd done it had already dashed away swiftly. Otuside in the perfect darkness they could see the shapes of two elven guards lying outside the cage door, throats slit.
