illithium and the improved mace of disruption

I'm a little bit confused about this quest. I heard about even if you give him fake ore, a priest in temple can still be happy with it and give you xp right?? You're giving the fake ore so temple will never have a wonder isnt it bad? Any ideas?

You get 10000XP for giving helm the lump of fake illithium, as the high watcher regards this as an exquisite new piece, causing you no loss of reputation and gaining (if you track it down via Neb) 200 pounds of real illithium to upgrade your mace.

Take nebs head to the Council of Six Building to get a reward for killing the Butcher of Babies from the origional BG. If u played the origional, this ties up the story nicely.

I completed the quest in both ways but still nobody rewards me with Helm Of Glory. Where I can find this item?

try going back to the temple that origionally gave you the sarles quest and talk to the person who gave you the quest after you have given sarles the illithium. This leads on to the Dawn Ring quest.

Even though the priest will except the fake illithium, I still could not do it. I am playing a Cavalier and it would go against my conscience to trick the priest. I know that your reputation does not suffer by given the priest the fake ore but I just could not do it. It would not have been right.

Alaric, you are NOT tricking the priest. The priest KNOWS it is fake illithium but do not care about it. He thinks it looks nice, and so it doesn't matter that it is fake.
