With a cleric/mage as your main character, keeping other clerics and mages is not important. You probably want to keep one straight cleric (Viconia or Anomen) and one straight mage (Nalia, Edwin or Imoen), so that they have the highest possible spells to cast. Take the 5th NPC now - and keep Nalia. Kick Cernd, Mazzy, Valygar, Jan, Korgan and Haer'Dalis after doing thier quests. I'd suggest a fighter for Aerie, if you switch at all - Keldorn can use Carsomyr, and he interacts with Anomen well. And don't forget to have Yoshimo when you go into Spellhold - it's worth 200,000 exp.
So after Spellhold, you'll have yourself, a cleric/Enchanter; Keldorn, an Inquisitor; Jaheira, Fighter/Druid; Anomen, a Fighter/Cleric; Nalia, a Thief/Mage; and Imoen a Thief/Mage You should be capable of handling the final 2 chapters without a hitch, and getting the staff of the Magi and the Ring of Gaxx with a little work. Keldorn is a Must, with Carsomyr, meaning you might as well kill both the red and shadow dragons. |

well, with a cleric/mage for the main character, killing the shadow dragon is a MUST! and if not for the main char, than anomen will be very happy
 and with keldorn in the party, killing the red dragon is also a must. and ring of gaxx/staff of the magi are pretty much must-have items as well
