yes, the beholder guarding the chest was damn funny stuff. I also thought the imp thing that talks to you after you give phaere the fake dragons egg (solefeins) was funny with all his backwards talking.

Yeah! That was one damn cool beholder! But I liked Firkraag very much, too. Being evil to the core he has that special aura which makes the real villains so mysterious.
