oh yeah, if i were a "smart" mage and someone turned into a jelly to stop my magic from hurting him, i would just counter with magic. that is to say, protection from evil/gate time. or just summon ANYTHING to hit him, as long as it has a +1 or better weapon i believe. or how about just pulling out the trusted sling or staff and taking a whack at him myself? just because magic doesnt work, doesnt mean a wizard is useless. tensars transformation myself, and attack his ass. if a wizard were "smart" he would know how to counteract something like this. anyone who couldnt would not make it in an actual campain. i dont care how much intelligence a character has, if he has no common sense, he is a goner. I thoroughly approve...

"Cheese" is the term that mundane non-mages use when referring to the wonderful abilities that we mages possess.

I don't see it cheesy at all, just need to keep things in perspective. If you use the 9th level spell Shapechange to turn into an Iron Golem and smash them about, is that cheesy? No that is using a powerfull spell to defeat an opponets primary attack ability. No different then using several mantles and stone skins against opponets with magical swords. Some AI monsters do this to you, even combining magic resistance with weapon protections, while having normal weapon immunities to boot...now that is cheesy. I have seen enemy mages cast lower resistance on me when I have some MR to defeat that defense, if an opponet can't defeat a defense that the game gives you then that is their problem. After all if the Coward Wizards want to screw with a Bhaal child, that is their mistake to make.
