geez i need a better computer
I'm using a PII 350 with a 16mb diamond viper v550 and 128 ram my computer used to be so good! now its so damn slow... |

Directx8 could be the key. I downloaded that when I got my new haard drive. Like I said before it runs good now. As a said thread, anybody have a gforce2 ultra and if so any problems, I want to get one next week. I think it may be overkill though.

I am playing it on a 300 MHz AMD k62 with 96 megs of RAM and a Voodoo Banshee video card and I have little problems with choppiness.
Try: Full install with plenty of room for a large chace size (Windows gets slow as % free spce gets smaller) Very Large Cache Size ( I have a gig set aside for cahce size) Lowering the search paths a bit (but I have found that anything below 12000 to be very annoying) Turning off music (and sound effects if it gets that bad) Not using 3d acceleration (since the only 3d in the game comes from spell effects) Closing all running, uneeded programs (an anti-virus program is a good candidate) Having more RAM always helps too. |

Had the same problems here that cleared up 3d was turned off. Turning off the weather and other extraneous graphics helped before that. And Yes, Mr. Underhill, Dell will pro'bly claim that first-born but you'll have fun 'til then....
