Consider making your throwing Ninja a dual-wielder instead of using a sling. It's challenging to keep him equipped with enough throwing weapons at first, but it's quite a fun combination. In addition, your Ninja will become adept at using all those fun thrown items like Stink Bombs.
Dual wielding should roughly double your chance for critical hits, but it never gets to be a very high chance. |

Ninja crit, and Ranger ranged crit top out at 5% chance when they getto 125, so it doesn't add much anyway. To get crit up fastest, always dual, from the beginning, so your dual goes up enough to get you extra swings faster--every swing counts toward increasing Crit skill. Senses helps with aim and is the primary learning attribute for crit, Speed being the secondary. Aim is a big deal for Ninjas, because if they hit, they automatically penetrate and have a chance to crit. Usually if i'm developing a Ninja to throw (i've been having fun with a slightly enhanced Boomerang, or two) i'll build Dex 3 Sen 2 Spd 1 until i max Dex, then finish Sen and Spd at 3 each, starting with Str as soon as Sen maxes. Str adds damage to ranged, but not as much as to melee. The only reason i like to get Dex first is for Reflextion, which i then train extensively for the AC. If you don't like to practise that much, go Spd3 Sen3 all the way. (Spd does get you 2 more AC...)

I wouldn't max Dexterity until after Senses and Speed. Reflexion is nice, but you already have Stealth, right?
![]() Pumping Dex up to 75 is probably a good idea to get the easy pickings on increased hit chance, though (I believe increases above 75 are half as effective, but I could be applying a principal that only applies to Strength). |

Scatter
Sorry to keep on asking you questions, but how have you managed to enhance the Bommerang Shiruken? Is there an editor to do this? Thanks. |

Yes. Availabe at the Software Specialties Greatest RPG fans forum Wiz 8. (i post no link, i think it's competition to this forum--?) You can edit all the Items, NPC,s, and Scenarios, and the creator thereof is working on other stuff. You can give yourself stuff in an editor from Samurai Jack's site.

Well, went to Mad Dog's site by following the above link (thanks Scatter) and can only see Wiz7 and Cosmic Bane editors. It says something about a Wiz8 editor in development.
I assume I'm doing something wrong? (Edit: typos) [ 10-14-2004, 04:44 AM: Message edited by: Krull ] |

Thanks Scatter but no go. I download the Cosmic Forge Unicode thingy which is for XP and I just get the Wiz7 editor.
When I try to use it to open a Wiz8 save file it says it isn't a Wiz7 savegame. It's so frustrating! |

up on the top of the editor, above the icon-buttons, click "setup", which will pop down "settings" which allows you to change the path to whatever game you want to use it on. I don't know wheter it has to be in the Sir-Tech folder; mine is...

Brilliant, thanks Scatter.
I just made it Critical Hit 5% which I don't think is too overpowering? Just curious, how did you enhance your Boomer? (Edit: spelling) [ 10-14-2004, 08:49 PM: Message edited by: Krull ] |
