My levels are 15-17, but am having hard time with Rynjins in and around the huts in Bayjin. I figured out how to get Vi to go with me, but am still having a lot of trouble. Thanks for all the info. It has come in handy.

You could try getting as close as you can, initiating combat and either putting up bluffs or running in to fight them, depending on what type of party you're running.

Completely forgot to mention flash powder. Rynjins are fairly easily blinded, and flash powder isn't that hard to get. They tend not to run away when blind (completely contrary to more or less everyone else), but they won't hit you (as often).

Smelling salts is a good idea, if you have time to use em.. if you're fighting a whole bunch of Rynjin they'll have time to eat up a lot of hps off a few unconscious chars.
As someone said already though, Soul Shield is a necessity. I couldn't kill them without it Then again I was only at level 9-10 at the time, at higher levels it's easier I suppose. |

Soul shield and magic screen at top strength are essential. Check through your accessories for items that give bonuses to mental resistance.
Of course the best tip I can give you is if you can't seem to win, come back later. Many areas aren't traversable until you've picked up enough levels. |

Lol, very funny Variol. Yes, lots of new things to IW. Anyway.
I didn't realize you were in Bayjin already. Now then use these huts to you're utmost advantage if you can. barricade yourself in them, so one at a time can come. If you need healing. Run, back up a bit, and summon an elemental in the hut so he gets the damage while you heal and prepare once again. The huts IMHO, aside from providing items, are there to help with the battle. It'd be very BS to fight them without any good cornerage at all, even with a high party. |

I play it like SecretMaster.
I sneak in from the Swamp Tunnel, kill the sprites on the mountain and enter the first hut when no enemy is in sight. From then it's easy to kill the Rynjin and all the other critters. My party has Lvl 15 at this time usually. I don't use Flash Powder, because IMO it doesn't work well because the Rynjin fight like monks and monks can fight even when blinded. I don't use magic often on Bayjin. I have Soul Shield, Magic Screen and Armorplate up and I have some very good figthers in my party, so I kill most of them in melee. My record for Bayjin is L12 with a Duo and 13 with a Solo. I don't even bother with the Sprites. Once the Sentries are gone, i go up the beach and turn uphill past the faeries, and come over the hill on line with the Chest Hut. I come down and go around the Chest Hut and open the door. Whether or not other mobs join the battle, i squeeze past to the left of the sentry (Chest side of the hut) and into the corner. When the Sentry dies, anything else which engaged will take a few rounds to wander off and exit Combat. Then i check the Chest. If i got Light, then i open the door and start killing whatever wanders by.
For parties who are not interested in Light, i don't go to Bayjin until a bit later. |

My record for Bayjin is L13 with a 5 character party, who came in from the sea, after having killed Nessie and then slaughtered everything on Bayjin. Unfortunately they did not get any interesting items.
