The most powerful character I have ever created is a mage turned bishop. I waited until she was level 18 pure mage then switched to bishop and was finally able to use all those spellbooks I had been carrying around forever.

Another quick little tidbit that I just learned last night. I normally powerup my earth skills with a mage or bishop by using knock knock a lot early on. But for some reason on an old party that I recently started playing again I had not done that. So when I got to Rapax Rift I found the seven tumbler lock and spent about an hour casting level one knock knock on it. My powercast and earth went sky high very quickly. I probably raised powercast by 20-30 points and my earth was going up 4 or 5 points a round. Just thought that might help. Bishops are the most powerful players I have ever had.

I agree flyfishin, Bishops are the most powerful caster class by far. Additionally, they get a 25% bonus on Artifacts, which helps with IDing your potions. I have heard complaints that the experience penalty over a specialist spellcaster is too high, or that getting a bishop good at 6 realms / 4 classes is too hard. What they forget is that you are having 1 bishop replace 4 casters, and extra training is inevitable because of this.
