I'm not really big on finishing anyway. Usually, at some point I'll get in the mood for a new party and start again. The journey and the items found are the best part for me. I only wish that the items found would be more random.
Likewise. I've run at least 14 different parties to various points in the game, not counting another half-dozen or so that I abandoned in the Monestary when I realized that they weren't going to be effective or interesting; I've actually Ascended 3 times.

When you say, "freeing the Rapax Queen" I don't think I even know what the heck you're talking about. I did have a bugger of a time trying to have sexus with Al-Sedexus though. When she asks who will... you have to slide the character out and then click on him. Just clicking on the bars doesn't work. (kinda stupid!)

If you don't rescue the rapax queen or Rodan and drazic and stay allied with the rapax, do you then habe to fight the rapax prince?
No. I had games where i did the Rapax away camp before going to the rift. As a result, the Rapax were friendly at the end. And neither the prince nor my love-child showed up.

Wereboar, that's interesting. In fact, this is the first tim I've heard that you can get to the peak and not find the Prince & Co. waiting for you. Was sure that was a fixed sequence in the game, regardless. Hmmmm.

Variol, the queen is in a small cave/prison behind the leader's tent. It is very easy to miss (I missed it myself the first game).
