Whenever they wanted money, I just killed them. After all, I was done with Trynton - at least the rattkin area - so it didn't matter. The only time I bothered killing the Don was when I had the fairy ninja. Otherwise, I just paid him for the doodad. It was quicker and money wasn't a problem.

Well, I did get *the artifact* but I'm wondering how much I'm gong to have to fight now that I have bad faction with the Rakuza. Are they easily avoidable? Or have I gotten an entire race angry with me? I guess I shoulda thought about that before I killed the breeders, huh?

Actually, I had no idea he had the cane. I just thought about what 20th level experience for a 9th-10th level party.

For the most part the rakuza just hang out on that level of trynton. as stated, however, you will occasionally be forced into an encounter with a wandering gang of them on the road. If you weren't going to keep paying protection money, though, there's no difference -- you'd fight them anyway and eventually your faction rating would go to hostile...

It's nothing that you shouldn't be able to handle.

Speaking of the CoC, I have a fairy bishop in my party, if at my next level up I take a ninja level, then the one after back to bishop, can I still use the CoC?

no, you must stay as ninja to use CoC.

Well, I also whacked the Don when I got the chance after talking to him. I got the Astral Dominae and a lovely parting gift for my Faerie Ninja. So can I get a definitive answer as to whether this will mess up my future meeting with the Dark Savant?

I didn't get any message about this action breaking the game or anything, just the faction hits, so I assume I'm still on track.

The only effect is that you're really realize how stupid this guy is. You'll meet him in the swamp, he'll talk to you about the thing, and won't realize that you have it.

Clearly you have the real thing in a special lead-lined box at the bottom of your backpack, so his X-Ray spell can't see it
