You do need patience with a Gadgeteer. Their armors not that good at first, and he wastes a *** of a lot of projectiles when he/she shoots 2 or three at a time for 2 times in one round! I gave mine a sword and shield and do the "pan fight angle" thing so he can use it in close combat and not waste the range ammo. But after getting to Eng 18 and assembling some gadgets, this guy is one of my best! (I built up speed, dex and Eng, not to mention lockpick, dam, mentioned it). At higher levels, the Watergun (Tsunami) and other thing that asphyxiates (Negatair) can take out alot of Rapax and smaller critters in one shot. I think they're worth it, and they add spice to the game. - Z. -

ya, i recenlty droped one of my rangers from my

2 ranger/4 mage type party, and my new gad rocks, (even at lv 12 when he got the repearter mod)

problems are... low eng/mod weapon/rng weapon(compartivly to the rest of the party0 because he hasnt had all the time to practice (1 fight = first 6 lv's, 10 fights after that and he is 12), but he lears fast... needs more str, it would have been easier to get him earlier and then have time to build around the str defecit(doesnt have tinker's[where are they by the way, so i can go grab them, and get some more carry] and is in a nearly all faerie party), but you live you learn (60 str). best item so far is the regeneration thingy, and the superman belt, im looking for the hose(lost it, think i sold it, but dont remember, as i didnt have a gad at the time, not getting the cannon would suck, but i can still pick up the negatair), as i have the bellows, but he wont be able to make it yet. and will pick up the lava lamp when i get to trynton to use the idol

MY suggestion if your making a gadgeteer... go and get spoiled as to WHAT COMBINES WITH WHAT, not where is is. My reasons... if sucks to lug around a bunch of gadits that have no correlation to one another and are hard to figure out what combines with what (i mean lead pipe and vacum pump?). Properly implimented when the alch and gad got the requisite lv of skill, a pop up should have said xxxxx has learned to make item xxxxxx out of xxxxx and xxxxxx, or a note in the journal, so you can see what goes with what, instead of lugging a bunch of gadit's around that you mightnt want to use.

Update on my Bard/Gadgeteer

Looking at my old game and the Musical Instruments I had collected. Changing at level 7 to a Gadgeteer was a mistake. I should have changed at level 8 where i could gain the abilty to use more instruments. So now I might change back to Bard then back again to Gadgeteer. Mabe I donno yet.

So if any one else was thinking about going from Bard to Gadgeteer I say wait till level 8 for the change.

*note* to get your Music skill up when in Arnika get yourself 2 Neckles of Endurance(using female bard)then the Viola D'Amore.. you should beable to figuer the rest out on your own.

My Bard and Gadgeteer are both so busy, I couldnt imagine combining these two into one slot, (I dropped to only one big Fighter) they both are throwing lvl 7 "spells" with no cost of spellpoints.
With only one Bishop for magic, their help is necessary.

Current party

Felpurr Lord (still wish I would have gone samuri)
Farie ninja
Gnome gadgeteer
Gnome Bard
Mook Ranger
Farie Bishop

The only NPC I have taken for the game is the android

Last night I restarted my party. While making my Gadegeteer I noticed something interesting. It seems that Lizardman have the best starting stats for gadgeteers, lol. I almost went with one, but had my heart set on a gnome gadegeteer. The lizard gadgeteer has the most starting HPs, stamina, and carrying capicity. Check it out
