Party Combos!

Hi,

Oh, this looks like fun. Hmm, where are the other Moderators *hint hint Saz, come out come out wherever you are!*.

My first party:

Male Human Fighter
Female Mook Bard
Female Gnome Valkyre (Wiz 7 import)
Male Elf Ranger (Wiz 7 import)
Male Rawulf Bishop (Wiz 7 import)
Male Felpurr Bishop (Wiz 7 import)

These guys are almost at the end, its been fun but I've already been toying with my next party, who oddly enough, come straight out of Bane of the Cosmic Forge, more on that in another post.

They are:

Male Dracon Ninja
Male Mook Lord (can you say GIANT SWORD?)
Male Felpurr Samurai
Female Human Monk
Female Hobbit Bard
Female Elf Bishop

Now, the fun part is that 4 of those characters are from my Wiz 6 party, who I had imported into Wiz 7, but didn't use them since I had created a new party when I played it. So, I had thought I lost all my Bane saves, but its was really cool to see these old warrriors come back to life! I had to let 2 of them go, they were just too weak from the import process.

I have to finish my first game though, I was knee deep in Rapax Castle last time I checked. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well, the party I am bound and determined to stick with (really, V***V, [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) is simplicity itself. But I *think* I've finally got a handle on developing this particular group right. (And yes, I'm a charter member of Re-Starters Anonymous)

Party is all level 9, on the way back to the monastery:
2 Drac Fighters (both sword and bow)
Hobbit Ranger
Hobbit Bard (sling...when she gets tired she pitches potions)
Rawulf Priest (Divine and Water focus, whip)
Elf Mage (Fire, Earth and Air focus)

Right now the Mage is WAY the kill leader in the party, ability to cast 3 consecutive 7th lev fireballs just roasts them in their tracks. Fighters and Rangers are catching back up, though, all are starting to get insta-kills fairly frequently. (including a recent 1-arrow kill on an elemental, w00t!)

and they went all the way with little problems.
My new party is

Dragon Samurai
Mook Ranger
Faerie Ninja
Hobbit Gadgeteer
Elven Bishop
Faerie Mage(L1)-> Bishop

they are cool, but so far I perfer the bard to gadgeteer.

update on my new party which is at lv 4 (except for the ninja...)

anyway it goes like this:
1 Rawulf Lord -lv 4 -concentrating on dual/sword/dagger(str/dex)
1 Felpur rouge -lv 4 -concentrating on dual/sword/pp(dex/spd)
1 Mook Ninja -lv 1 -concentrating on nothing until she gets her crits up, when that happens im going to multi to ranger and lv up from there, using thrown and sling (as the rangers crits are for all ranged weapons)
1 Hobbit(Gnome) Gadgiteer -lv 4 -concentrating on eng/lkp/modern(int/dex)
1 Mook Bard -lv 4 -concentrating on music/commun/myth
1 elf mage/bishop -lv1/3 -concentrating on div/alch/wiz/psi

when i get a respectable amount in crits ill lv up the ranger, currently im in search mode, and run(finnaly figured out how to do it when not im combat[shift]) when i know there are no items of importance around

im in a 2-3-1 config to keep my lv 1 ninja that has 11 life out of harms way

so far im about to leave the lower monastary at lv 4 (while each char can lv to 5, but wont until Arnika)

Im using the latest patch, and am having trouble shotlifting burz with a skill of 20 and 79 dex/82 spd. i cant even shoplift rocks that cost 2g. howeer i was able to pickpocket him succesfully for his 105 gold. Any tips for the lastest patch and shoplifting?

this has been the most successful party I have used yet...I drifted away from magic and focused on a more 'pure' melee party.

monk - dex, speed, senses, ?(str) barefisted+throwing
fighter - str, dex, speed, ?(vit) sword+shield and a bow
samurai - dex, speed, senses, ? 2 swords + rudiments of wizardry
priest - pie, int, speed, ? regular
psionic - int, senses, speed, pie regular (knife for +init)
bard - senses, int, speed, ? my musician
? means i did not start developing it yet


my next party will include bard and samurai as well, and most prolly priest which i will turn into bishop ASAP; i am a bit dissapointed in valkyries and lords atm, so i will include them too lol;

Male Dwarf Lord - Dual weapon-sword and dagger
Female Hobbit Bard - Pretty good with a bow....Music & thieving
Male Mook Ranger - Bow and scouting of course
Female Elf Alchemist/Bishop-you should see her go with a double shot sling!! Priest and Alchemy
Female Fairy Mage-Magic and darts or sling

I have Vi and Android Monk right now and I'm pretty happy with them...

All party members have had points added to speed right from the beginning.....

Pretty basic party. I don't like restarting to make a more powerful party though. Seems to take the fun out of it. I like to have to deal with the shortcommings that pop up during the advnture.

I am considering changing my rogue class to bard though, because of all these nifty instrucments I've found.
