Hi April,

Hot dog, what a great tip you found!! Kudos!

Awesome, my party is about level 18 so it takes a while to gain a level, but even so, this is the fastest way to get experience I've seen so far. Especially using two portals, you can kill Brekek, get his leg and get the exp in about a minute or two. Would also be great to create a new character and let them level up quickly. Not to mention you can get some combat skills while fighting that fat frog.

A funny side note, cast your return portal to Brekek's pond while you are in speaking distance of Crock, and then click to talk to him while you are teleporting away.

Its kind of funny...heh heh.

This must go in the best hints thread!!

Best

Wonderful.... way to make us vengeful freaks feel bad about popping Croc upside the head for kidnapping my bishop.

That goo stain behind the counter won't talk to me anymore

Beware of over-utilising this bug The random monster generator depends on level of party. If you exploit this bug, you will get lots of exp w/o a lot of skill increase.

This sounds like a great goody bug all in all, no? MornD, if not asking too much could you elaborate on the exp vs skill factor you mentioned? Had no idea this took place. Would that rule then also apply to pretty much any critter thats at a weaker lev than the party?

PS Murphy's Ghost was also in Wiz5, and was worth lots of exp there as well. Too bad there's no tribute to him in W8...

What he was talking about is when you fight monsters you generally get "some" skill points. But, by getting a few hundred thousand points by killing Brekek a few times you won't be getting the skill points you might have accumualted in those few hundred thousand points fighting a ton load of monsters. Four battels with Brekek could equal about 30 to 40 battle with other monsters. I would imagine the typical player would gain a lot of skill points in that many encounters.

Where I think it will come in handy is when my party is near leaveling I could fight Brekek once to get them over the hump.

Sorry for my late reply...went to sleep after posting the message.

I have been lurking in the boards for a long time and in the very beginning, one of the developers mentioned that skills are a lot more important than attributes and level, so like what Dajjer had explained, high levels with low combat skill points will get you no where.

Well, I have a level 15 party (well Rogue, Mage and Priest are 16) and on my way back to Arnika anyway (for another quest) - so I ended up stopping by here (on my way anyway) - set a portal at crock's, one at Breke's - and just went back and forth for a few times and really got a laugh out of it. Wow I can't believe someone remembers that. I remember having a younger friend of mine kill that ghost over and over all night long for me in Wiz 1. Gee that was about what 15 years ago? I know I played it on the Mac back when it was first released. I think I was 10-11 years old. Oh the memories.
