I imagine Cromfaeyr would be very good, but i doubt it kills adamantites in one hit...
Btw Dundee, can a two handed sword actually out reach a golem's arms??
I remember very clearly fighting them in ch 7 with a two handed sword and they definately still hit me
Btw not doubting you or anything, 'coz i know u know more than me

I believe I laid the smack down on him with Anomen and the hammer +1/+4vs giantkin, from nalia's keep, it counted as a +4 weapon for damaging him, as well as iron golms and other fun little beasties I got to fight, other than that it's a fairly lackluster weapon

The best way to kill ANYTHING is with a bounty hunter(yoshimo). just strategically set multiple snares(you''l have to keep resting to regenerate the skill), and i promise EVERYTHING will eventually fall!!!

Crom Faeyr is a +5 weapon and can hit Adamantium Golems, but not kill them in one hit. The one hit kill only applies to the 'regular' size Golems like Stone, Clay, Sand, etc... ...

All two-handed weapons have a further range than the Iron/Adamantium Golem. The thing is, you have to position the character very precisely. You cannot click attack the Golem, if you do that, the character will automatically engage the Golem as close as possible. You have to move the character yourself first( turning off the AI will help a lot here), then see whether you are in range by click attacking the Golem. Note also that you may have to position the character at a certain angle too.

Old, old screenshots from the past.

An easier way however... is to use ranged weaponary. You can use +3 Throwing Axes( like Aduzedge) or Bows that fire +3 arrows.

Don't forget about Melf's minute meteors. These thingies will hurt the golem aswell and it's a spell of a pretty low level.

As for Cromm Faeyr, I think it was described as "Can kill trolls, ettins and clay golems with one hit". Maybe I am tad off but I think it was so, can check when I get home. It didn't kill all the golems with one hit, but it's good enough to give some very serious whooping to them anyway.

And to make the Crom Faeyr, make sure you have all the 4 (yes, FOUR) items: scroll, gauntlets, belt and a hammer. I think these were:

Scroll of Crom Faeyr;
Gauntlets of Ogre Power;
Girdle of Frost Giant Strength;
Hammer of Thunderbolts;

The last hammer btw is good as well, it's +3 blunt weapon. Pretty handy against those pesky clay golems especially.

I can assure you that Crom Faeyr will instantly kill almost all types of regular size Golems. There is only one regular size Golem type that does not instantly die from Crom Faeyr( Magic Golem).

Iron and Adamantium Golems are large Golems and are immune to the instant kill too.

Yeah I done that on bg1. I was killing a very tough person so I summoned skeletons all round them. i then made my mage attack it with a staff over the heads of the skeletons. The person I was attacking couldnt reach back and died after about 10 minutes.

The other 2HS that hasn't been mentioned is the Silver Sword, aka, the Vorpal Blade. If you have progressed far enough in the game to have Cromwell make it, or have activated Shadow Keeper or the CLUA Console it is a very powerful weopon.
What makes it so valuable, especially against powerful enemies is that with each successful hit, the target must make a saving roll vs death at a -4 penalty. Failure is instant death no matter whom the target is. I have vanquished many a more powerful foe than myself with it, often on the first successful hit.
There is also the Warblade+4 and Soul Reaver+4 if the character who wields it is evil aligned.
