Level 20 is WAY too soon to take on the Gorrors! Man, were you playing at Easy level? I was Level 20 before I started the Dane tower! (No offense meant, BTW, just curious!)
Okay, so the Light Key won't charge. I still wonder about the Diamond Ring, though, as it does hold charges. The initial charges of an item shouldn't matter, as long as there's one charge unused on the item. You can charge it all the way up to 99. Depends on who you call the "Bad Guys." If you listen to their story, you realize that the Bane King and Rebecca are actually the "okay" ones, and the Queen was the evil one. Of course, each side's going to call the other one black, but I felt like their stories were more genuine than hers. The King showed remorse for his actions, much like G'Ezzered Ra did. So I call the King and Rebecca the "good" guys; if there's any such thing in Wiz 6, and the Queen and Xorphitus the "bad" guys. (You find out, also, that they were having an affair and plotting Rebecca's downfall, and that Rebecca was innocent of all the "crimes" the Queen charged her with.) If you send me one of your files, I'll hack you a Diamond Ring and you can use it. ![]() Gawds, now I'm sounding like Wyvern! LOL! -Sazerac |

Hi Saz
Well, remember what I said about these being super characters? Here is the low down on their stats (most where this or close to it). Ninjitsu - 100, Kirijitsu - 100, One or more spell types - 100, etc. Weapon Skills - 100 in 3-8 (or more). They all had around 200 HP and extremely low armour classes. For instance, both of my Faeries had total armor ratings of -20! So, only the Beast proved to be too much for them. At level 30, they seem to be 10 times as strong as they used to be! I'm sure they could wipe the beast out now, just got to get them out of sky city (which is a royal pain, I really hated that part with the invisible barriers. An extra waste of time that should have been left out IMHO). Hmm, my memory of Bane isn't all that great, I think I may have killed the King and his Daughter, but honestly I don't remember what I did! I may still have those saves too.....but I'm not sure. I think I tried all the endings, but my original party that I imported from Bane to Dark Savant I tossed out and made all new ones. Diamond Ring eh? Sounds good, and I'll try and charge it up too! Too bad I cant play at work. Actually, I have a mac version of Wiz Gold here, but it crashes like theres no tomorrow. Oh well, I'll send that save off to you this evening! Again, thanks for the tips! ![]() Scronan |

Sure thing, Scronan! If you're interested, I can get you a couple of other interesting items that are rare to find in the game, including the Garland of Roses and the Cameo Amulet which give some great resistances and special powers. I reloaded the Gorrors chests time and time again and on a couple of reloads, I found these.
On weapons, I almost forgot about Ymmu's Paw! Now there was a cool "dagger" type weapon...I remember it had a good critical hit ratio and also had a fairly good percentage of "stoning" an opponent (and in Wiz 7, stoning meant you could still kill the opponent easily!) I gave that to my Ninja as a 2nd weapon and let him go to town with it. -Sazerac |

Saz,
That sounds cool, I might have found the Cameo, but I dont know about the Garland! Ymmu's Paw, nope I dont think I have that one! I used Pandoras Wand as an accesory weapon, since it does every ailment (stone, paralyze, insanity, death and a few others). Only draw back, is my Ninja cant use one! A Monk can though. I believe my Ninja has some other staff...but that dagger would be a great addition. The Cane of Corpus though, thats just about the best weapon there is, and the most damaging as far as per hit goes. Not easily obtained though... ![]() But if the Sword of Light is used for a melee attack, it is the strongest going up to 80 Damage per hit! By the way, what other armor is really good? I found the Mantis Boots and Gloves, they are awesome, and the Ebony plate for the big fighters. My armor is pretty good, but not so good as the weapons I have. Fun stuff! Scronan |

Okay, I can get you an Ymmu's paw, and let you use it...any character can use it, not just the Ninja...
![]() Other good armor: Chain of Divinemail, Displacer Cloak, Jazeraint Skirt and Tunic (great for Valkyries), Silver Solleret (boots), Chamail Doublet and Pants +2 (?), Black Gown of Death (make sure you have a +regen item equipped!), Hi-Kane-Do (or whatever the really cool armor it is you get off the undead Gorn Samurai in the Isle of Crypts, Coif of Divinemail... That's all I can remember off the top of my head at the moment. -Sazerac |

Scronan! I just remembered something. Did you ever get the Razuka treasure? The one from Don Barlone in the Rattkin Funhouse?
Most people I knew never did, since Barlone' keeps pushing them out of the dungeon. BUT: I figured out a way how to do it. After you talk with Barlone' the first time, you get the information he's wanting (the stardate for the next landing of the T'Rang Shuttle). After you bring it back to him, start looking for Ratsputin. When you run across Ratsputin, he asks you for 20% of all your treasure. Quite naturally, when he did this to my group, I told him quite cordially what he could do with himself. He said, "Beware the paw of the Razuka!" and disappeared. When I encountered him a bit later, he came across with this really bad Mafia impression "You have betrayed the family! I weep for you, and I kiss you.." Then he attacks. After you kill him, go back to Barlone' in the Funhouse. He says the exact same thing that Ratsputin does (I weep for you, and I kiss you..) then he and all the Razuka attack. It's a fantastic battle; definitely keeps you on your toes. When they're dead, you can explore the area behind their room. It leads to a huge treasure chamber. That's where I found the Cameo locket and the Garland of Roses; also the Vitriolic Warder (which is the best and ONLY protection against acid attacks in the game). There were also Peacemaker arrows back there (which are like the Dragon Arrows in WW for what they do.) Anyway, just thought I'd pass that little tip along. I was thinking that I'd found them in the Gorrors, but it was in the Razuka treasure house instead. -Sazerac |

Hmm, you know I remember raiding the Rakuza (hmm, sounds a little like a certain crime organiztion in real life, eh?) quite well.
I guess there were just different items, or were these always there? I dont remember what I found exactly....I might have a save from back then though. I think my main goal was the Cane of Corpus...I might have missed the Rakuza treasure..but I dont think so. ![]() Scronan |

tips i remember: you can get the cane of corpus twice. be sure to get the ring from blienmeiss before you kill him.
you can fight demons for a lot of exp, till the end of time if you kill the monk at the river (t'shober i think) before you say the words that start him to wandering. |

I seem to remember that you get the Razuka's treasure once you've finished the quest they give you: to find out when the next T'Rang shuttle leaves. They depart on the spot, leaving their treasure chests. I think... I could be confusing things.
My favorites were always the *L*I*G*H*T**S*W*O*R*D* (Ah, nostalgia for the *asterisks*!), and the Cobalt Power Glove, or whatever it was called. Has anyone ever tried recharging a power wafer? Never thought of that till now! BTW, there's a GREAT character editor out there in web-land (still available). It allows you to edit and equip your character with ANYTHING, and in ANY quantities. Light sabers for everyone! unlimited peacemaker arrows for my ranger. I never use cheats, as a rule, until I've finished a game at least once. But after that, lets have some fun, what? This editor also installs a tsr that gives you a hotkey for HP and manna recharge on the fly. Great fun. Aside from cheats... My favorite little ploy during the game was to use some of the better permanently reoccurring encounters to level-up my party. My favorite was in the Tower of Dane, when you are on your way out from the Hall of Wanderers (is that the name of the level with all the teleports?), at one point you must leave the T-shaped room with the fountains and cross the spot in the corridor which always spawns a difficult encounter, usually of the demonic nature (great exp) but not beyond the power of the party to handle. Can't wait for 8! (catchy?) ------------------ JonII |

JonII: I remember that editor. I think it's called W7EDIT.EXE or something like that. I'll see if I can find it online and post a link...or if you know where it is, post a link to it.
![]() The place that you're thinking of is the "Temple of the Wanderer"; the 6th level in the Dane tower (same as the Magna Dane's room). Yes, I remember that corridor well. If you were lucky, you'd get about 5 groups of High Fathers or something like that, worth in the 80,000 XP point range...let fly with those Nuclear Blast spells! There's another such spot in the Hall of the Past (much further in the game, near the Astral Dominae). It's a 4-way intersection, right in front of the huge square room with all the spinners. Every time you cross that point, you get a major encounter! I used that place to get my characters up to level 80. I was finally able to take out the Beast of 1000 Eyes after that (which was my goal in the first place; I'm averse to shameless "stat-mongering".) -Sazerac |
