"do we want this to be our own setting? i say yes. city or overland to start? i say city, we can do like a central part and then the borders and allow people to fill in, or design a while city that just has the architecture and let people pick what would go where"

My first design was going to be just a city adventure, So I like the idea. We have a few players really interested in this project, and there hasn't been a lot of response from others... yet. I think that there may be some more interested in this project, but that may not matter either way. I think this project will not only bring more players into DC, but might bring some of the ppl affected by RL back as well. If we do a collaborative (or communal)project we have a lot of choices for what to do. Thats the beauty of the idea behind FRUA, the UA. Now with this project we should do a "roll call" or "shout out" or something for ppl who are interested AND can participate. Now saying that, I had a RL problem that is going to hold me up on being able to participate in the project, that my computer recently self-destructed. (I will be back up and running in a month or less. In the mean time, I have the ability to check up n the forum at a nearby coffee house.)

the next step is prolly to see who's all on for this, and maybe set up some talk with this (was the talk of this going to be moved out of this forum and to yahoo???). We could even start planning this out and do map submits and such.

So far, it seems like you are the un-official head of the project (setting up yahoo discuss group and such) so I'll keep in touch (msg here or yahoo or whatever) with you for this.

the collaborative project seems to be picking up, and since it has it's own list now, we could probably just discuss this on the regular dc list, with important posts being placed here as well (important=any announcements).
i think that even if we are the only two interested, we should still go ahead, b/c the beauty of a communal project is once we have the initial map in place, it can be picked up to be worked on by anybody at any time. and, like you said, i think there are some people out there just waiting...
