I just saw it a lil bit ago and it was frickin sweet, girls just walkin around in thongs for most of the movie was definetly a plus. Couple questions though,
SPOILERS

is marv really dead and was josh hartnet's character just a hitman?

It was ok, I think I'd have liked it more if I was back in my... ahmmm... 'horny 16 years old' days.

To say this movie was targeted for young males feels like I'm wasting time pointing out the obvious. I think if you weighed all the outfits worn by all the women in the movie, you'd be hard pressed to get a pound or two.

The look of the film was well done, very 'graphic novelish'. I loved the atmosphere and the sparing use of color.

The plot was mundane and very cliche, and while I think that goes with the territory it was still a bit of a letdown.

The Mickey Rourke scenes were great, edgy and funny, IMO he stole the show. 'Nice jacket'.

The Bruce Willis scenes were also pretty good, especially with Jessica (WOW!).

Clive Owen's scenes... well... they were in the movie. Bleh.

Overall worth seeing, and one that I think benefits from the big screen. Some movies are just as good when you watch them on video, I don't think that'll be the case with this one, the visuals are an important part of why the movie is good.

Agreed. So is the plot to most graphic novels, though, so I didn't mind.

seriously, his character was great. I wasn't sure he'd be able to pull it off at first, but he did a pretty decent job.

And, how exactly was it that Elijah ate souls?? And the priest, how did he participate, and what was the point??? All very unclear. At least in Pulp Fiction, I figured out what the band-aid on Marcellus Wallace's neck was and what the glowing stuff in the briefcase was. Here in this movie I do have unanswered questions.

If the plot had been more on the level of other movies, I guess I'd care more. However, I just saw the plot here as a vehicle for the art and imagery. I'm okay with that, mind you.

The contents of the briefcase are never disclosed, and it's a huge topic of debate among fans.
