So many good ones to choose. It's such an expressive instrument, and the really good ones have a style all their own.

In the rock(-ish) genre, I can't choose. Hendrix, Clapton (more blues, possibly), Santana, Jonny Lang, and Lindsay Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) are my top five.

Big fan of Mark Knopfler as well. He did an album with Chet Atkins that shows more variety than his Dire Straights stuff.

I agree with Juradu on John Fusciante imho one of the best guirists around.
As best Bassist i'd have to say Robert Turner of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Billy Corgan
That would be David Gilmour

I will put him on my list also, 3rd though. He will not make too many lists, because in the majority of pf songs all he wrote was the guitar solos. But he wrote some of the songs also....

2nd Ill put slash. Only for a very small amount of material really when compared with these older ones. But I really dig the solos of gnrs 2 biggest hits sweet child of mine and november rain....

1st is definitely jimi page. Just the greatest rock composer ever.
