Anything with Bruce Lee or Jacky Chan or Jet Li in it. And anything that have been stripped from the famous novel series Jin Yung.

I also like A man named hero
Stormrider
Dragon Inn
White Hair Devil Lady ( bai fa mo nue juan )

hmm..can't remember the rest.

How about the Sho Kosugi ninja movies? Or the American Ninja series? (Just kidding!) Those have to be among the worst. Also the Streetfighter series with Sonny Chiba was terrible (as are some of the other ones he did, like the one with the "spider ninja" who could climb really well but not do much else), as well as Firecracker (an excuse to show a good looking girl who really couldn't fight having her clothes ripped off constantly during the fights; a Showtime/Cinemax late night movie masquerading as a martial arts movie).

Anyway, back on topic. I did also like Iron Monkey (and really did not like Iron Monkey 2 that much). There were two that I saw as a kid that I really liked, but can't remember the titles for the life of me:

</font>
 • Jackie Chan (if I remember right) plays a villager who stands up to the corrupt local boss. The whole time they are asking one of their own that left the village to come back and help them, but he does not show up in time; Jackie goes up against the boss and is killed, then his friend (who is a better fighter) flies into a rage and kills the boss.</font>
 • There was one with 4 guys who were each given different training. One was put in a mud puddle and had to try to jump out; he eventually gets good at leaping and kicking. Another has to keep sticking his hands into hot coals (or something of the sort); he becomes great using dragon claw and other hand styles. Another has to twist bamboo across his body; he gets to the point where nothing can penetrate his skin except for at his beltline. I forget what the fourth one did. When they fight the main bad guy and his troops, only the first two I mentioned above survive it.</font>
I don't know if you would consider films like Yojimbo or The Seven Samurai to be martial arts films (I consider them more dramas than anything, but if they do fit your definition then both of those were outstanding).

The really old Jackie Chan movies (with Samu Hong and other lesser known guys) are just hilarious. They are soooo incredibly stupid that they are funny again and the stunts are great.

I was going to put them in but they weren't really martial arts films, like you said more of a drama. Anything by Akira Kurosawa is good, every Kurosawa film i'v seen so far has been great. Definitely one of my favourite film makers

I've been reading some really good reviews of Kill Bill the last few days. One person wrote it made him feel like he did when he saw Star Wars in 1977 (for those of us that remember that experience that is high praise indeed )
