Agree with Memnoch that "The Exorcist" was pretty scary. The original The Haunting gave me the cold grues. The wors, though, was Jaws. I hurt my shoulder jumping when that head came through the hole in the boat.

The old lack and white film... "The Haunting of Hill House". That was back when they made Horror movies with little or no blood. They did it with atmosphere.
"Silence of the Lambs" when I watched it alone at about midnight with all the lights off and the cat jumped onto the shelf and knocked over some books. I about peed myself. Stupid Cat! "Jaws"when it first came out. Same spot Attalus. "Alien"when the Facehugger falls from the ceiling in the MedLab. I used to watch for the popcorn, it always flew high in the theater...lol. That whole movie was creepy. There are others of course, but I don't recall them at the moment. |

I would have to say that one of the scariest movies I have ever seen was the first Halloween. There are so many great, “jump out of your seat” scenes in this movie. As well, it had some of the best scary movie music ever.
Someone else has mentioned the movie Alien; this one also ranks high on my list. I think it has one of the best endings of all time.

Stigmata wasn't all that scary to me... I just really liked it.
The Omen wasn't all that scary either but I liked it. Now the movie and probably one of the few movies (I don't get scared easily by movies) was It. That movie got to me... all the way to the end. I won't spoil anything but if you have seen it then you know what I am talking about.

Unless you're talking about hacking in the physical, rather than electronic, sense. ![]() The Shining - yes I forgot that one - the Jack Nicholson version was full of suspense. Suspenseful more so than scary IMHO. [ 01-27-2003, 02:13 AM: Message edited by: Memnoch ] |

No I am talking about the Stephen King book/flim. I never read the books, and I never payed much attention to the flim, so I might have a misconception of it.
I have only watched it once, and what I meant by a hacker flim lacking the hacking...Well, a hacking flim is something like Scream, where basicly a people get murdered. And its pretty one dementional. Now It, they battled this clown that was trying to kill them or something right? But never did or at least I dont remember it. So thus I called it a hacker flim lacking the hacking. Again..I could be wrong.
