I found 'Snails', played by Marlon Wayans (from Scary Movie) to be downright irritating. I silently groaned every time he opened his mouth to crack a 'joke'. It's hard to tell which is worse, the acting or the script. Wayans wasn't as bad as say....Jar-Jar Binks on the irritating scale, but he came close. I felt no emotion whstsoever when he died. Although I was suprised, usually in movies the stereotypical 'funny' black sidekick always survives.
I thought the dragon battle wasn't that great. The special effects were inferior, even compared against older movies like Dragonheart which had a more realistic looking dragon. There was no real justification for the massive fight between the dragons in the first place. Why would the Empress set a heard of dragons on the evil Jeremy Irons & the sheep like governors?

Generally when somebody sends a swarm of Dragons after you, you fight back with your own swarm of Dragons. However, if I am not mistaken, the Red Dragons were more powerful, and they only managed to win because they destroyed the scepter.

Why oh why did they not just destroy it when they found it, I will never know.

On a side note, I am one of those who do not find Jar-Jar Binks irritating, much to the confusion of many people, but there you go. Neither do my friends, by the way.

It was terrible and not worth the hour and a half you would spend watching it, I'll just leave it at that

Some people must like this movie because when ever I check this forum there is always a new topic concerning it I found it alright..around 7/10.

Spoiler
I thought it was pretty pointless how Snails died. I watched the rest of the movie intentively to see if he would somehow come back to life

I don't get why the lady could cast spells in the wizard's tower when Snails and that main character dude went to steal stuff, but later on in the movie, she had to use that stupid magic dust! I also don't get it when the things come out of that blue guy's ears. That freaked me out! At the end, when all of that magical stuff floats around when they're near that Snails grave, I almost laughed it was so stupid. The beholders looked stupid. So did that quicksand carpet. All in all, I don't get this movie. I suggest you don't get it either.

*Hi folks This is my first post.*

Yea, I think the magic dust thing was kinda silly. It would have been cool if they could tie up the spellcasting scenes in the move with the actual game rules. Who has ever heard of magic dust being used anyways???

Also, if I'm not mistaken, they said the mage girl was an apprentice mage somewhere in the beginning of the movie. At best, that makes her a level 1 spellcaster.

Question: What is a level 1 mage doing casting a high level spell like Dimension Door in the first place?

actually there is a decent list of magical dust in D&D (dust of appearance-reveals invis things, dust of disappearance-only makes things invis., dust of choking and sneezing-self explanitory, check out: d&d downloads the DMG has a decent listing of magical dusts and powders.

Welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy your stay here
