I've read the "uncut" version of The Stand. What a fantastic book. I recommend everyone read it whether your a King fan or not.

i know, i've read em. Did you by any chance read desperation ? Cause if you didn't, you definitly should, it's one of his creepiest stories if you ask me. And afterwards (if you liked it) you should read the regulators, it's kinda related to desperation, not a sequel or anything, but you'll understand once you've read em.

Did anyone find the shining scary? I read it and it was boring perhaps playing games has dulled my being scared or something but it was so boring. Yawn. Anyway are the others better?

King rules! He is one of the few writers whose books really "drag me in". Once I start reading I can't put it down
Anyway my favourites are:

IT
The Stand
Insomnia
Bag of bones
The Green Mile (loved the book, hated the movie BTW)
Pet Sematary
Cujo

But as you say, any of his books are great

yeah, there will always be books that don't get to as much as you hoped they would. I have the shining myself, but i never read it, because i must have seen the movie a dozen times.

The Talisiman
The Stand (un-cut version)
IT
Needful Things (the best movie adaption)
The Green Mile (2nd best movie adaption)
The Dead Zone
Salems Lot (the 3rd best movie adaption)
Desperation
The Regulators
and the Dark Tower Books
I'm reading Black House now (sequel to The Talisiman) so far standard King stuff (fantastic)
