Please odnt ever say that Starship Troopers was like that book EVER again. It was AWFUL. Where the hell was the power body armor??? Dizzy was not a girl. Where were the skinnies??? The Drops from the ships? His drill instructor and Sgt. were not the same guy. That movei was AWFUL.

I felt cheated when I bought the VCD on Mansfield Park. The movie portrayed Fanny Hill to be a frivolous character, and this greatly annoyed me because according to Jane Austen (her creator), she was anything but.

That's why I feel that movies can never capture the real essence of characters described in novels (how much character development and thought processes can you cover anyway, without boring the audience which usually prefers action?). However, movies enable me to picture the backdrop to the story, if these are represented faithfully.

Overall, I would not trust the movie version of the story, if a novel had already been written before this.

The only books I've read that they made movies out of that where pretty accurate where:

Gettysburg and Eaters of the dead(aka The 13th Warrior)

Unlike Sphere where the ruined the ending. These where done almost word for word to the books.
