I just finished the return to Krondor game, great graphics but a bit short unfortunatly.
Its based on Krondor:tear of the gods, a book that will come out later this year.
But since the game is real cheap its definatly worth playing.

i'll have to agree with most of the posts here. Fiest tends to write on a more grandious level while Salvatore is the king of action. its hard to choose between these two. it boils down to what you look for in a book.

I am fan of R. Feist, his Magician is my beloved book. I read this book 4 or 5 times. I read all his books published in my country.
R. A. Salvatore write to good, but I read only Icewind Dale trilogy and book Luthien's game.
I like them both, i can prefer no one

I haven't read any of Feist's stuff yet. I need to start, he sounds pretty good. I've been sticking to AD&D books lately.

I'm not sure which I prefer, Salvatore has been one of my favourite writers ever since I read his Dark elf trilogy.... so I guess I like his writing more than I like Feist. But its still hard to choose.

Ive never read Salvatore, but I thought Wofgir's comments on Feist and Jordan were pretty close to the mark. I have always thought Magician (we get the two books on one 800 page volume in OZ) to be one of the best single stories going about. I do think the quality dropped off after the Riftwar saga was completed though - too much of a tried and true formula and not enough unpredicatbility. While Magician wins out as my favourite novel, the Assassin's books (Robin Hobb) or the Fionovar Tapestry (Guy Gavriel Kay) win out as the better series from my point of view.

Guess I better pick up some Salvatore next time to widen that perspective.

PS - can anybody claim to have read the 800 pages any quicker? I bought Magician home one afternoon, read till late that night, got up the next day for a D&D session, picked it up again in the afternoon and didn't stop reading until I finisehed it about 3 am in the morning. A very compelling read - now that I am some 16 or 17 years older I can't mantain that sort of avid attention span any more.

Cheers

actually yes I have! I read a hell of a lot and I managed to get through it in I think it was 3 hours but since I love it soo much its understandable. I usually can get through about 2 300pg books a day if I feel like it but I have slowed down lately as like you I am 17 almost 18 and just dont read as much. Really its bcause I have run out of books to read and when i got to the library literally almost all the books they have there I have read.
