I know, sad but true - knew it was on it's way out when I couldn't touch anything. Thanks for the company (not sure my character can cut it though - fabulous AC, can't punch her way out of a paper bag!). Back to the drawing board later.

Hey, that sounds like most of my characters, except they get walloped on as well. You might want to post up your build in the NWN forum to see if anyone has some ideas of where you can improve your setup. Most of mine were purely concept-based and spur of the moment planning. In short, doomed to failure. Thanks to T-D-C and Robert The Bard, I think I may finally have a character that can challenge the higher levels with a modicum of success. It's a small start, but it's a start.

As for the server caving in on itself, we did have it going for a long while. Perhaps there were artifacts on different levels still active? (Creatures running about, piles of gold left behind from slain creatures, et cetera.) That would push it over the edge in terms of usage on the CPU I figure. I am no genius when it comes to NeverWinter Nights, but I have a feeling it's not as "smart" as we would like it to be some days.

I did notice last night that you boys are not being very careful to pick up drops--and we all know how that lags things, don't we. *whistles innocently*

Of course, that does leave more for us come-latelies, but still.

Concept characters -- like my little "Hoochie of Death"?

I can't believe you quoted me on that...
*sighs, blushes*

And I normally collect my own drops - and the drops of others. You know me and my 15+ bags worth of items I tend to carry with me. How do you think I have enough cash to buy some of the best items for OTHER people? Level Eleven and Level Twelve are probably the worst for me in terms of collection because there's so much left behind by others. Which reminds me the next time I make a character to just dump about 15 bags filled of items on them. It'll make it easier to get the money for scrolls and potions. I still have two ranger builds, one rogue build, and a new paladin build to start on. (That brand new longsword the Cyrists kidnapped would look nice dual-wielded if at all possible...)

Should I be worried that the Great Z is implementing even more diabolical manners in which to kill, umm, I mean, challenge us adventurers since the server appears to be offline right now?

Na, just some oddness. my second hard drive which is the newer 300gig SATA. well, it rebooted the system, and then wasn't detecting on boot.

Ok.... open the case. tighten cables.

now SATA HD boots, but my P-ATA HD doesn't. WTF?

So I replace the data cable. nothing. Check bios boot list, all fine.

So last chance, I change the power couplers for BOTH HD's. Separate the power rails, so amperage is split. Worked fine--or its a motherboard issue, which comes and goes. (This weirdness happened a few months ago)

It's either the power supply (which HAS been running nonstop since 2002) or it's the motherboard. Both are cheap to fix, so no biggie if they go.

All seems back to normal now. I SHOULD just order a new Power supply. it's so old.

Server will be back up in 10 mins.. moving all the crap back in place.

I think this PC was jealous because I didn't dust IT out too.. (It was dirty)...

I am going to build a new PC soon--a dual-core, just gotta get a small loan from our credit union--they have awesome 9% loans.

Server just crashed - no warning (such as lag, black-out, etc). The error message did say my server-side character had been saved, though.

*sigh*

That's usually a good sign, it means that new content is most probably on the way. You probably missed a server message to that effect as well.

Oops, down again. If you don't like us killing all of the dragons in a single session you just have to say, Z.
