Oh cool! I'd love to see it if it works out! I always thought it was neat to be searching a room or area and find something 'hidden' in a hole in the wall, fireplace, floor, a tree etc!

BTW, here is one I made--the first one. I will save the other, nicer ones for in game discovery. My Gem studded chest is AWESOME! This one is mainly just a retexture. The others are actual new models.

More reskins would be cool. I had a longer post, but something here ate it. *sighs* It talked about all the different possible skin ideas, including using real "skins" from the game. (yes, things like a troll-skinned crate, or that magical loot bag made with the flesh of a drow... - wait a minute, if that is the skin of a dark elf, WHAT MADE THAT BAG?!?) You know, stuff like that.

wait until you see the rest of my annoying posts. I am sure you will change your tune soon enough. I used to be a dungeon master's worst nightmare: creating concept characters on the fly JUST for sheer roleplaying entertainment. sure, most of them are evil, but there is nothing wrong with beheading a king and kicking his corpse into a plate of armor if he just called your mother some foul names. (just because I never knew her does not give him the ability to curse her out.)

NOW, back onto the concept chests, shall we? *bows to you once* some "new ideas" you can use for some things would be relative rehashes of things seen on television or movies. namely: use your reskinning tactics on various placeables and objects to create new things to loot. (exampli gratias: fallen armor on the floor containg two magical daggers in the arms, magical boots, and a magical chestplate. thing is, the moment this is looted, the "placeable" turns into a minogon or some other armor-based monster of doom and destruction.) some traps could be used AS the way to find the treasure. meaning that an explosion trap would "shake some rubble loose" and expose the edge of a large trunk made of copper. (excessive, I know, but it is just a random thought.)

as food for thought, for one of of the numerous quests you are planning on installing, why not have a warrior's quest which they have to find a chest in some level and CARRY IT BACK to the person running the quest? sick and merciless, yes, but they are warriors - it is their job to do that kind of stuff. and yes, the chest will have random items in there - all found by the questing warrior.

I vote YAY for new chests. How about like a secret door to nowhere, except when you find it, you get a treasure....
