Okay,guys, what do you think; will my rig make it?
2 gigs of 3200 RAM Athlon 64 3200+ CPU X800 GTO 256MB DDR 3 RAM, 2.0 pixel shader video card. Its the video card that has me concerned though I am glad it came with DDR 3 Ram instead of the standard DDR 2. |

I have an OC'ed 2.8Ghz 2 gig pqi Ram, and a 6800 GT 256mb card (will be upgrading that at Christmas I think, newer cards are cheaper now)
Now... If I could just get 2 10,000 rpm Raptors..... (although they are LOUD and hot) but sooooo smooth. Hard drives are the PC's bottleneck. We need Magneto-Crystalline Disks. Near instant read/write. And then Windows Operating system on a chip on your motherboard. Instant boot OS. I bet that's coming in 5 years or so.. (that would kill pirated copies huh)

I'm fine except for video card.
Video card woes can probably be ignored by putting it on lower settings (something I have to do for Arena servers anyways), or slapping in more RAM. I beat out the Oblivion recommendeds though. Will probably end up getting it if I can locate a mod that does away with the crappy TES leveling system like there is for Morrowind. Was very underwhelmed by the beast races in Morrowind. The walk/run animations were horrid.

I thought all the Nvidia 6000 line supported 3.0 shaders, don't they?

Well I just got a new computer so I think I'm set for any new releases for awhile. However, I think I'm going to pass this off for awhile and buy it when the price drops. Unless it turns out to be a kickass game.
Oblivion still has me tightly gripped. That and I am re-playing the BG series. |

I guess my Sony VAIO 2Ghz, 1GB RAM and Nvidia Go6200 with Turbocache might not cut it, eh. Bugger.
