True Names are wonderful tings

Edit: I admit, I didn't get it the first time through had to do a reload to get the right sequence.
Well did you or anyone else use a pure caster and fight Mephistopheles full on? I'm not trying to be smart or anything I'm just saying my friend did and he could not do it at all, and I wondered if any full mage has legitimately beat him.

Gabrielles blades...

Just purchase the keeper of names name first (it should always come up as an option..I think entitled "Yours"). And no, my intelligence was a pitiful 10.

Spirit Warrior..

I effectivly tried it with a Sorcerer at level 18 and a Sorcerer at level 17. After a few minutes of melee attacks it became rather apparent that I couldn't touch him (beyond an occasion few points every so often) - so I gave up trying and left it all up to the spells. And for both class levels I did get an occasional 4-6 points of damage from acid fog, (but it was rare). Of course the spell that did was the one I mentioned.

Why would a pure Spellcaster ever want to go head to head with a Daemon when they could use the unearthly intelligence and Wisdom they had gained to literally have him eating out of their hand simply by useing his true name? If you insist on duking it out in a spell battle against a Monster that is nearly magic proof....you aren't useing the right muscles Im not calling anyone stupid...Im just saying, if you want to be a barbarian and muscle your way through thats fine but if you use a character based on intelligence...why not use that intelligence instead of trying to be a barbarian weilding magic?

Balance doesnt demand that you be able to kill him with magic missiles...balance means that you can best him....some how.....some way.

The highest enchanted weapon was a +8 Astral Blade (from the first guardian of the path IIRC). Aribeth used that one dealing about 5-6 damage each hit, giving a constant flow of damage as I didn't notice her missing much. My bard/rdd used Devil's Sting (from the encounter with a certain NWN henchman if I'm not mistaken) which is a +6 weapon and dealt 2-3 damage a hit. I used some summons by the Summon Monster 8 and 9 spell. When I had living summons I'd let Aribeth die and resurrect her, once summons ran out I used potions of heal on her so I wouldn't get hit while giving Aribeth flanking allowing her to sneak attack. It took quite some time but in the end he was dead

BTW how do you get summon planetar, is it an epic mage/sorcerer spell cause I couldn't find any scrools of it

No I saved every scroll of greater planar summoning, planar summoning and lesser plannar summoning from the OC and SOU I bought them up every time I found them available. They may not actually have been Planetars...I forget what it was called...in BG series it was Planetars you got to summon at high level so I just used that word...sorry for the confusion it caused

Greater Planar Binding:

Type of summoned ally is based on caster's alignment:
Evil: Vrok
Neutral: Death Slaad
Good: Celestial Avenger

guess your character is good..
