NWN is great, u should at least give it a try... sure the 3rd editions isn't the same as 2nd but the storyline is ok sofar.. the most anoying is that it's so hard to find a good longsword!

What a lot of people seem to dislike about NWN is that it is now BG3, which just seems silly. It reminds me of movie reviewers who are like "Spiderman sucks because I really liked Gone With the Wind and Spiderman isn't anything like Gone With the Wind. Don't waste your money to go see it."

I love NWN. Like Arnabas said, keep in mind that this game isn't BG3. You control one character and one henchman, which is different from the BG series, but you get used to it.

I don't have any complaints about 3:e either.

And about the graphics...I'd love this game even if it looked like poo! It looks nice, but not as nice as Morrowind...oh well [img]tongue.gif[/img]

im sorry for those of you running into bugs. so far, the only bugs IVE run into are firebeatles and the like. seriously, not a single bug, and im just LOVEING this game. great graphics, great story, AMAZEING character developement, nice system, the list goes on and on. there are allready around fifty modules to download off of the internet for it. this game is great, and i cant WAIT for the expansion. the only thing i DONT like is that after level 20, you are kinda out in the cold. bah, oh well, small offset to its many perks.

There was another bug apart from the firebeetle - they blew poison gas at me in the aquaducts overin the docks area. I have suffered no game bugs though,and I am about to complete chapter 1. Would those that are having bugs please their miseries with the "unbugged".

The stock SP game that NwN ships with frankly isn't that great. In that respect BG is far better.

However you should realize what NwN is really intended for. The SP game that is provided only scratches the surface.

Now for the first time (along with Morrowind) we have a CRPG that allows for players to customize their own modules for single play. The toolset allows for some very elaborate scripting and custom item creation. We can look forward to an endless supply of excellent player created games, many of which will blow Bioware's SP adventure away.

In addition NwN makes it possible to DM a game with up to 64 players according to 3rd edition rules. It also allows for persistent worlds where characters can roleplay with large numbers of other players and virtually recreate the Forgotten Realms (or whatever campaign setting you like). Morrowind does not have a multiplayer mode, btw.

In these respects what players will be able to do with NwN amounts to a quantum leap from BG. NwN is not at all about playing the same old single player game over and over all by yourself.

That is a question I think many people should have asked before buying the game. It has many positives and negatives depending on what you seek in a RPG. NWN is an amazing, beautifully crafted, rpg that entices all players that either have friends that play, time to make new friends online, or that have the drive to play online games. I have played RPG since the original D&D pencil and paper and many friends and others I know like the fact of having a party, well distributed with all types of characters and managing tactics that include magic, missile and brute strength. That I think is the biggest flaw of NWN. On the other hand the graphics are amazing, lighting features really boost the game. For those who enjoy multiplayer features and the bonus of creating your own adventures , it is definately a plate full. To make things short, If your the big diverse party kind of guy with a thick story line (BGI & II) then you might not be 100% happy, but if that is not a strong issue for you and you have the time and imagination for multiplayer and creation then definately buy NWN, you will not be dissapointed.

I guess the people that really enjoy the game are too busy playing...

Which begs the question why I'm not playing now

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through the game, and have enjoyed playing it infinately more than I enjoyed any other computer D&D game.
