I think they are aiming ofr a more tradiational DND feel. Thats why you start at lvl 1. Lets face it, becoming a demigod wasnt that hard in BG. NOt comparied to Pen and Paper dnd

No, I was wrong, the de-leveling will only happen on Vaulted characters. I read that from what a developer said.

NWN is going to be much more of a roleplaying game than a powergaming one. Which IMO is much better as even in SOA you could become overpowered, so NWN should be fun

I'm unlikely to want to import a BGII character - part of the fun of a new game is creating a new character IMHO. And being slaughtered by a goblin within the first 5 minutes is all part of it!!

"NWN is going to be much more of a roleplaying game than a powergaming one."

It could if DM's want it to be. They could make up hack' slash modules that just give out lots of exp for people that want uber chars. Could be either way.

And again thats another example of NWN's huge potential. The power to choose.

casting Grease and Sleep is what? boring?

the bueaty of AD&D is:
small thing counts

that is the fun part of it. using overwhelmed character just kills the whole point
