All that can be handled by the DM. He'll be in charge of just how fast you'll be going up in levels. So it all depends on the type of campaign you join.

Well have to agree with the rest here, and by the way? How many child of Bhaal is there?

How many children of Bhaal? Well, according to the cut-scene at the end of BG1, there are hundreds of the buggers. I agree with starting at level 1 again though. Just pointing your tank to kill everything is no fun any more
