As Legolas said, he won't buy any more shells after you have him make the armor. But before you make the armor you can sell any number of shells.

If I remember, he takes all the shells in your inventory when you sell a shell, so only be carrying one shell while talking to him. Then pick up the others (off the gound, or where ever) and sell those too.

Well, that doesnt really matter, there is a free ankheg shell in Naskell. Even u have sold ur shell or could find the spoiler in Naskell, there is still plenty of armor as good or even better, such as Mithril Chain+4, Full plate mail+1, Plate mail+3(TOSC) etc. Unless ur whole party consist of all warrior, there is no reason that u should need so much good armor.

As far as I can tell, the only benefits of the Ankheg Plate are:
- Great for characters who like to wear green armor
- Its light weight is ideal for those with low Strength (such as Viconia)
- (Most Important) It can be worn by true-classed Druids.
- It's decent gear for a Fighter/Thief or Cleric/Thief: You're going to be swapping the Shadow Armor on & off all the time anyway, so you can't wear a Ring/Cloak/Amulet of Protection. And if you're not wearing a R/C/AoP, then you might as well wear enchanted Plate.

Right SixOfSpades.

Hmm I haven't found a combo of Ring/Cloak/Amulet of Protection and plate that's better than the Ankheg Plate yet + the Ankheg Plate is good for those weak females in my party (ha ha).

Ring of protection +2 and Normal Full Plate Armour

In my party Branwen liked to wear green, but then she found a Plate Armour +3

"Ring of protection +2 and Normal Full Plate Armour".

Really? This combo gave the same AC as the Ankheg Plate in my game. Sounds odd. Gotta try again.

Full plate armor and the Ring of protection+2 is the best. Together with items such as Helm of balduran, Defender+5, Shield of the falling star etc. It boost my Khalid armour down to -8.

SORRY!!!! Of cause the combo of "Ring of protection +2 and Normal Full Plate Armour" is better than the Ankheg Plate. Just checked my game. I must have been sleeping or been thinking of another plate.

Two questions:

1)What do you say to have him make you the armour?

2)Does the shell count as magical armour?
