Perhaps I am just being very conservative - I usually only take my characters through 2 or 3 roles. Bungleau is absolutely right, Javrix - just follow his advice. Just notice that if you train a lot of magic related skills and then switch to a warrior role where you get the opportunity to train all the weapon skills you may be unable to train a specific skill when your character gains a new level. That has kept and will forever keep my zenmaster from training gallantry.

If you can make it through a whole game with only two to three roles, I am more than impressed -- I'm amazed. I'm flabbergasted. I'm in awe. I always wanted a reason to be able to say "flabbergasted"
As for skills, you're absolutely right about being careful of what slides off the list. I never train in weapons other than the ones Hammerhead mentioned -- swords, staves, and daggers -- until later on in the game. You can always train in those at the guilds, so I leave 'em alone until there's nothing left. 'Cause as soon as you train in it, that skill stays on your list forever. If you don't train and you change classes (say, to warlock), all the other weapons skills disappear when you level up. They come back later when you are a class that can use them. Thanks for the pleasant conversation, bsftcs!
