walk straight to the Flaming Fist head quarters, you should get arrested right away if this happens then you're on the right track. They will through you in a cell with a little Mage that goes by the name of Zeb or Neb. He will ask you ato answer a wierd riddle, after you answer he will use a spell and your team slips out through a secret tunnel.
Now head straight to the Iron Throne Tower again but, before you get to far you will meet a woman named Tomoko talk to her and you will find out a few things and she will try to get you to leave Sarevok alone, I killed her, she was tough but she couldn't take on the whole party then afterward head toward the Iron Throne and chech out every floor from bottom to top.
On the 5th floor you will find someone "Cythandra" attack her and she will surrender and tell you about the Undercellers and give you a diary that belonged to Sarevok READ this Diary it will unfold alot of the story plot. Then continue down to the Sewers. There you'll find Slyth and Cristen Kill them and search the bodys. Slyth has a scroll on his body it is an invitation to the dukes Palace to make Sarevok the new Duke. Now head farther into the underdark until you find the way into the Palace ( SAVE YOUR GAME NOW) and then try to kill Sarevok BE VERY CAREFUL,from here your on your own.

This is really starting worry me!

I went to the IT tower and snooped around EVERY room, even the basement and the roof top, but all I found were big fat merchants and two cooks!

Then I went to the Blushing Mermaid and then the undercellar which is connected to it.

I spent a whole lot of time pausing and placing my mouse cursor over every skank, Nobleman, and guard, but found NO ONE of any importance.

Then I went to the Flaming Fist HQ and talked to every guard that I could, atmost one of them said that Duke Elton is upstairs waiting to talk to me.

Well I went up there and there is NO ONE around.

I am really getting ticked off!

Is there any way to delv into my game files and see if there is an error or something that is missing in my plot sequence?

Or maybe cheat a little by forcing a plot initiation?

Note: While I was at Candlekeep, "Mr. Koveras" offered me a ring, but I DID NOT accept it.

Also, I did not make it any farther up (if it's even possible) than the THIRD floor within CK, since I was then thrown in jail by the guards.

I don't know if those two above things could have any effect on my plot or not, but I thought I would mention them.

They couldn't. It's totally irrelevant whether you accept the ring or not and you're not even supposed to reach the top floor of the CK (although you can if you hide in shadows).

By "game lag," I meant the computer slowing to a crawl as you exited Candlekeep.

But it was your post after that that is making me worry, and I'l tell you why: Your game is messed up. The game does not know what chapter you are in. That's why you're not finding anyone in the Iron Throne or the Undercellar, and why you're not having loads of fun with the Flaming Fist. Don't bother CLUAing in an invitation--it won't do you any good. What you should do is go to your Journal, and see what chapter the game thinks you're in. If my theory is correct, you "should" still be in Chapter 6. In a NORMAL game, Chapter 6 would be the Return to Candlekeep. As you as you re-emerge from the catacombs, the game waits a few seconds, then goes to the "Beginning Chapter 7" screen. You made no mention of this, all you reported was that your game speed got shot all to hell. Dollars to nickels says that this is where the game choked. I'd also be willing to bet that you don't have an old Saved game before this point to go back to.

There might be a way to use the CLUA console or Gatekeeper to slap some sense into the game and force it to recognize that you're in Chapter 7, but I've never heard of one.

Your exploits in the Candlekeep Library seem perfectly normal, by the way.

If the theory about the chapters is correct, then you can use the console to help you solve the problem.

After activating the console in Baldur.ini file, enter the game and type the following in the console: CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys(). Then to jump onto the next chapter click ctrl+c. Hope it works, 'cause I remember I tried it once (just for fun) and that it didn't work. Anyway, give it a try.

I haven't checked my thread in a few days since it seemed that you guys all gave up on me, but I'm glad the two of you haven't!

As you guessed SOS, my journal still has me in chapter 6, however the chapter 7 section of my journal is there, only it is comepletely blank.

I can't remember if you can see the blank pages of further chapters? - so I thought I would bring it up.

As far as any 'movie scenes' for chapter 7, I honestly can't remember if I saw one or not, but I doubt that I did because I probably would have taken note of it as I have done so in all the other chapter movies.

I did however notice that when I slept at an inn, after leaving CK, that there was some dream sequence where I look at my reflection in a pool and a raven is perched above me or something like that.

But I don't know if that dream really means much or not?

Hey you guys can go ahead and spoil me by 'refreshing' my memory about the chapter 7 movie, then I should know for sure if I experienced it or not.

Oh, and I do have CLUA up and running so I may try Flaming Fist Enforcer's suggestion.

I do have Gatekeeper installed, but it no longer works for my current saved games.

I started my main character out as mage but quickly got frustrated at the melee fighting deficency of an All Mage Party, so I changed him to a fighter.

However, I made a big mistake, I forgot to errase all of his previous mage spells BEFORE I switched his class!

So now when I try to load up a saved game from GK it says, "ERROR! Unknown spell type!", and won't allow me to access it.

I wish that I knew how to delete that stupid 'Identify' spell from his book, but I bet it's nearly impossible.

As far as I can recall, all of the blank pages in your Journal are already there at the start of the game. And the fact that your Chapter 7 page is empty, and the fact that the Journal went to Chapter 6 by default, seem to clinch the theory.

There's no actual "movie" for Chapter 7, just a screen.

Chapter 3: Still from the Bandit Camp movie?
Chapter 4: Still from the Bandit Camp movie? (I forget)
Chapter 5: Still from the Cloakwood movie
Chapter 6: Close-up of a book in a display case (from Candlekeep movie)
Chapter 7: Still from Iron Throne movie (pillars, torches, fancy chair). A voice-over talks about how you have to go to Baldur's Gate to stop Sarevok and clear your name (So people won't think you're a murderer who goes around killing people like Rieltar for fun).

Cheating = Bad, but I don't think they're linked. Try FF's suggestion, as I don't recall any "Chapter" settings in Gatekeeper.

Anyhue...

I went back to Candlekeep as I figured that this is where the Chapter 7 movie/still was scripted to originally take place at (not sure if it matters though).

I then typed in: EnableCheatKeys() and hit the 'enter' key.

Then I pushed 'Ctrl' and 'C' and then... bada bing, bada boom!

The beautiful four-star chapter 7 movie began and I just about fell off my chair!

I then checked my journal and... what the heck, shouldn't there be some notes of the movie that I just watched?

So I was a little worried there for a while, until I made it back to the 'Gate' and was imediately engaged in a conversation with some Zhentarin lackey, which in turn added some notes to the ch7 journal.

I'm at the coronation right now and everything seems to be running pretty smooth.

Except for the fact that the experience for all my character's is back to the original TotSC level of 161,000.

My characters are still at the levels that they were at before I initiated the movie, which is good.

So this 'Experiece Cap Remover' that I installed may have been the original problem which screwed up my progression in the game.

Not sure, but it's atleast worth taking note of as a possible bug related to the 'Cap Remover'.

Anyways, I want to thank all those who posted and tried to help me with my predicament.

I may afterall be able to see the conclusion of my ALL-TIME most favorite RPG, even if I don't want the game to ever end!
